Worst movie of All-Time nominees

Worst movie of All-Time nominees.

BWillie 08-17-2017 06:50 PM

I'll start.

Star Wars.

All of them.

Followed closely by Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.

The Franchise 08-17-2017 06:54 PM

Nacho Libre.

stumppy 08-17-2017 06:54 PM

Wag the Dog

Only movie I ever walked out on.

Sassy Squatch 08-17-2017 06:59 PM

The Room if you're judging it unironically.

BWillie 08-17-2017 07:00 PM

I apparently was banned from the Obi Knobe (whatever) thread because I said Star Wars was one of the greatest artistic failures that is cherished by many. I will express my displeasure here over the Star Wars franchise.

Star Wars. A kids movie that appeals to creepy middle aged men.

BWillie 08-17-2017 07:04 PM

Valhalla Rising. Also pretty bad. And it has my boy Mads Mikkelson in it even. Just a horrid movie. The beginning was pretty cool, though.

mr. tegu 08-17-2017 07:27 PM

Prometheus was very disappointing. Not sure it deserves this nomination but it's all I can think of for now.

Back in the 80s my brother watched this movie called Krull. It was the worst movie I've seen. Ever.

So awful in its 80's schlock that it was great, lol.

Deathstalker is another. I remember it being terrible, but it had Barbi Benton and Lana Clarkson in it. Let's just say they made a huge impression in young Bowser's mind -

Megaforce

I actually paid to see it in the theaters TWICE. First time, my friends and I didn't know any better. Second time, we were denied entry into John Carpenter's The Thing because we were 15-16. The only other movie playing at that time was Megaforce. So we went in, and because we were the only ones in the theater, we started riffing on it MST3K style, before there was an MST3K.

Really? I loved it. Of course, I knew absolutely nothing about it going in, and was just expecting another run-of-the-mill superhero movie.

That flick is on Amazing Prime. Attempted watching it a few weeks ago. Made it all of 15 minutes. Horrible

Baby Lee 08-17-2017 10:12 PM

Two that seemed a senseless waste of time and effort into poor execution

Tango and Cash
3000 Miles to Graceland

Dune is my third pick as well, for the squandering of masterful source material. The original book is twice the accomplishment of Game of Thrones, and I love Game of Thrones.

Right? It's been a long time since I've tried watching it on HBO, so I looked it up again since all I remember is that Bill Cosby was the lead and it's terrible.

The film starts with Parker being called out of retirement by his CIA director Snyderburn (Baker) to save the world from evil vegetarian Medusa Johnson (Foster), who brainwashes animals to kill people. The film ends with Leonard infiltrating Johnson's headquarters (an "International Tuna" factory), fending off the vegetarians with magic meat he received from a Gypsy, freeing the captive animals, and flooding the base using Alka-Seltzer. He escapes by riding an ostrich across the roof; the unlikely steed flies him to the ground.

Dayze 08-18-2017 08:14 AM

only 3 movies I've ever walked out on
Independence Day (and I never watched any of the other similar type movies since; Armageddon, etc)

Men In Black

Mullholland Drive

but I've watched a lotty of shitty movies at home that were god awful. hard to count / narrow it down.

Most Recently Jason Bourne. It's currently at the top of my list for the most awful movie I can remember.

I'm not including movies from the 70's / 80's - there were a lot of bad movies. I watched "Breaker, Breaker" a few weekends back when we were rained in. My god, it was so bad it was hilarious.

Molitoth 08-18-2017 08:15 AM

This is one of the most memorable worst scenes of a movie for me.
It pissed me off so much, I walked out. ****ing stupid.

I didn't see it in the theater, so at least there's that. The ending made me want to beat the shit out of somebody.

I love critically acclaimed movies that are utter dogshit. This turd and The Thin Red Line immediately come to mind. And I had to pretty much be physically restrained from leaving the theater during Moonstruck.

Ohhhh, I can't believe I forgot. But the last Furious 7 or whatever that Paul Walker was in. Holy **** that was bad. Now almost all of them are bad except for the 1st one, but Furious 7 some how got tons of great reviews so I went to see it. Huge mistake.

Kill Bill
The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover
Kika
Starship Troopers (which is actually somewhat entertaining in a trainwreck sort of way, but it was utterly horrifying to see in the theater as a longtime Heinlein fan)

Rasputin 08-18-2017 11:56 AM

Envy, with Jack Black and Ben Stiller. I didn't chuckle once but thought something was going be funny in it so I stayed throughout not wanting get up to go to the bathroom. Even the dead horse floating down the river wasn't funny & that's where all the "poo" went that VaPooRize spray can to clean up dog poop & make it disappear.

Movie ****ing sucked.

It could have been funny for a SNL skit but not funny movie.

The I Robot trilogy is a sci-fi gold standard. That abortion of a movie veered so far off course they shouldn't have been allowed to use that title.

Glad you got something out of it though.

Count me in on this one. And just because I am a glutton for punishment I watched it twice. The second time was fairly recent. I thought with as good as it was reviewed maybe I missed it the first time.

Oh hell. Those movies all have to be up there. I watched the fire one. It actually had some character development. Second one looked like trash so I didn't bother. I don't know which one I saw a part of but they were dragging around a safe with mustangs. God it was shiterrible. I wanted to gouge my eyes out with a stick. Mother of god it was terrible.

The other thing that isn't represented here are shit love movies. My wife made me watch a few that are pretty abysmal. I couldn't name one, but they do exist.

One I do remember was Bend it like Beckham. I don't remember much about it other than it wouldn't end. Ever. And I was fully willing to chew through my arm to get away.

It's old school Assimov bro from back when sci-fi predicted the future. Still a good read to this day if you're into the genre.

I have to join in with the Dick Tracy votes.

There are tons of movies I haven't enjoyed, even loathe, but I can recognize that my personal enjoyment is not actually a rating category in the Worst movie of all time pageant. I can also ignore shitty movies that were produced as B or tv/straight to video because there were no expectations of quality in the making.

If I remove my own subjective preferences and look just at the expectations of quality versus the actual quality of the result, then there is no question, the largest gap belongs to Dick Tracy.
