Julio Jones lost an earring. Look around and see if you see it.
As a manly man, it kind of pains me to post this.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...aign=editorial Julio Jones Hires Dive Team to Locate $150K Earring Lost in Lake Lanier Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones is not hurting for money, but the two-time All-Pro pulled out all the stops to locate a $150,000 earring he lost while riding a jet ski. Per Brendan Keefe and Christopher Buchanan of WXIA 11 Alive, Jones hired a dive team to scour Lake Lanier for the valuable piece of jewelry after it fell into the water when he hit a boat wake. Unfortunately for Jones, it doesn't sound like the chances of his earring being found are very good. "It's down in crevasses and nooks and crannies," salvage diver Richard Pickering told WXIA. "It's impossible—absolutely impossible." Bobby Griffin, a member of the dive team, described the bottom of the lake as "pitch dark." There were also trees below the surface that made their quest even more difficult. Even though Jones will probably be out the cost of the earring, he's going to earn $11.5 million in base salary this season, per Spotrac. |
If I were a diver and found it, I'd tell Julio "Sorry man. we couldn't locate it at all. it's dark and whatnot down there">
Then drive to Vegas, and sell it on Pawn Stars for $375. |
Wearing earrings isn't my thing, admittedly, but why in the hell would you be wearing 150K jewelry while you're out on the water flying around on a jet ski?

I gotta put it in a box, display it, sell it. Have the right guy come along looking for an earring once worn by an NFL player. I'm taking all the risk here . . . . .
|
It's probably at home on his dresser or something.
|
Hey Julio, does it have a big huge diamond on it?
Oh, this isn't it. Sorry |

What an absolute idiot . Firstly, to even spend 150k on freaking earrings is another reason why so many of these pro athletes go broke.
Secondly, to wear them WHILE jet skiing? Good lord smh. |
Earrings are ghey.

The only thing worse than spending 150k on a worthless earring is paying thousands more trying to find it at the bottom of a lake.
|
I am always amused when professional black athletes buy expensive diamonds that are probably mined by African Slave labor.
|
Black Mines Matter.
|
Lucky for him your basic Homeowners insurance covers upto 2500 dollars in jewelry lost
|
Time to plug if you are someone like BigWillie that buys 25K diamonds for their partner you need to get a writer on your insurance policy.

I'm still curious if it's just half of a pair of $300,000 earrings, or if it was just one earring that he wore like a pirate. If it's a pirate earring, it makes more sense that you'd wear it out on the water.
And if it's part of a pair, is the other one ruined now? Does he have to stick it in a drawer and never wear it again? |
Fans of a team with no genuine #1 receiver bagging on the #1 receiver in the NFL for something as petty as an earring.

Who wears a $150k earring while riding a jet ski? Just buy a fake...nobody is going to question if its real or not.
Dumb.... |

I would love to know how much the dive team charged Jones? |

How much money has been made off of jewelry? How many lives lost? Crazy to think about. |
Did he check to see if he left it with his make up, or maybe he dropped it in his shoe closet near his high heeled pumps?

Lake Lanier (officially Lake Sidney Lanier) is a reservoir in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. It was created by the completion of Buford Dam on the Chattahoochee River in 1956, and is also fed by the waters of the Chestatee River. The lake encompasses 38,000 acres (150 km2) or 59 square miles of water, and 692 miles (1,114 km) of shoreline at normal level... |
Status symbols cost money. We can probably blame that on the first neanderthal who had more nice animal skin rugs than everyone else but also happened to have an affinity for the fancy rocks lying around.

My response: And you sold it to them immediately...right? I enjoyed sleeping in the guest room for the next week. I don't get it. |
He should of attached a floatie to it before he went jet skiing. Duh

I dont see believe Julio is an "idiot" for owning nice jewelry. Now wearing in a lake? Sure. Lol |
I like to think of myself as a law-abiding citizen, but if I ran into a person wearing a $150,000 earring, I would rob them immediately.
|
Unreal that it wasn't insured.
|
Didn't Bono (not Steve, the other one) have a yacht sink that wasn't insured many years ago? Rich folks be trippin'

On a completely unrelated note, you said you wear earrings, right? What'd you pay for them? |

It's been a long time so I don't remember exactly but somewhere between $20-30.. so don't get any ideas Von M- err, Rain Man. |
Ok I am not up on this phenomenon of men wearing womens jewelry but if it was pierced how did it come off so easy without tearing the lobe? Was it clip on like a tie? If it is so easy to come off why even have a hole punch through your ear?
