Who are some CPers that you miss that aren't confirmed dead, but probably are?

The obvious ones are FAX, Skip Towne, and Mr Blond.

Gaz didn't die; he voluntarily left because he felt the tone of the board had changed and become too virulent. Instead of making an "I'm leaving forever" thread he just stopped posting. He eventually posted once or twice in response to people asking about him, and then that was that.

I seem to remember someone saying that Mr. Blond was in prison. IIRC, it was someone who knew him outside the board.

A lot of times people just step away from the board because other things become more important in their lives.....there are a lot of us who have been here since the inception who lurk, but post infrequently.

I post more during football season than any other time, but also like to jump in where topics interest me.

SBK changed name to Bewbies. :)

Lurch still posts under a different name. Lurch was a parity mult.

I think part of this stems from the Chiefs recent success. Not as much controversy to talk about when things are running smoothly. That's why I joined, I think I typed in something like "Matt Cassel sucks" in Google and ended up here.

I check every I.D. I see.

Nah, message boards in general are going the way of the dodo due to other forms of social media. Facebook, Reddit, twitter, instagram, snapchat, kik, etc.

Chiefsplanet is definitely among several message boards that have handled the exodus to other forms of social media well, but the decline in membership and activity is very noticeable. I don't see that turning around.

Message boards peaked in the mid 00's, both in fun and activity.

If I have the names right, he was from the same home town and I'm pretty sure I heard him on the radio not long ago either doing a fill-in report or maybe he even has a gig there now, couldn't say for sure, I don't listen to it that often.

That's part of the rub. As existing users got bored and move on, there is nobody left to replace them to keep a community going. Before newer social media, old users who abandoned their accounts got replaced by newer users but these days newer users go to reddit, twitter, facebook, kik or etc.

MarkM got tired of the BS and name calling. He has a son that gets a lot of his attention nowadays. That and his red-headed German wife gets the remainder of his free time (and rightly so).
