CP's Favorite Christmas movie of all time!

I'm in the Christmas spirit, but I'm not in the spirit enough to give away $100 Visa Gift cards. So, let's talk Christmas movies. And let's find out which one tops the CP list.

Nominate and discuss your favorite Christmas movies in this thread. Nominations will be allowed until Sunday morning some time. At that point, I'll take notes of all movies listed and create a poll containing those titles. You will then vote for your favorite three from the list.

If Rain Man has already done this(and he probably has), let's do it again anyways. Maybe the newer folks will push a new movie over the top.

I'll start by nominating Home Alone, Santa Clause, and A Christmas Story. I loved them all in my childhood.

To all of you Bah humbug folks out there, if you don't like the thread, just put it on ignore. Don't come in here flaunting your assholes.

Paniero 12-19-2014 09:25 PM

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. And Christmas Story for sure.

I may have to turn this into "CP's favorite Christmas movie not named Die Hard."

Yes. The bolded is my Number One Favorite. The other two: While You Were Sleeping, Polar Express.

Believe it or not I never saw Christmas Story.

Christmas Vacation has my vote as well. NSFW?

This is a great movie. I end up watching it from wherever I catch it, to the end every time it's on. Underrated.

Plus I ****ing love Keira Knightley
God damn.

And who couldn't love a Christmas movie with lines like these:

"...trapped into frittering his life away playing nursemaid to a lot of garlic-eaters."

"We serve hard drinks in here for men who want to get drunk fast..."

"Mr. Martini, how about some wine?"

I get tired of any movie I watch more than a handful of times; but that's the best Christmas movie for me.

I'm sure TNT is still doing their 24 hour showing every year, so I'll catch it once before the season is through.

The first couple of years I was a huge fan of the 24 hour deal. Now I wish they'd rotate some other movies throughout the evening. We usually are tuned into it for background noise and light watching throughout the evening. It's grown a bit thin, though.

Ha. Christmas Vacation just came on. ABC family.

FlaChief58 12-20-2014 07:45 AM

Christmas vacation tops my list. I'm watching it right now

mr. tegu 12-20-2014 08:10 AM

Miracle on 34th Street needs to be mentioned.

If I only got one vote it would probably be Christmas Vacation.

This movie sucks balls. I dont care if it's considered a classic...it's ****ing boring.

So is the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" I still haven't seen that movie all the way through and don't wish to because it's so boring I fall asleep to it.

ILChief 12-20-2014 09:40 AM

I know I'm in the minority but I don't like a Christmas Story.

Vacation and Scrooged are my favorites.

jspchief 12-20-2014 10:14 AM

Elf
Dutch

Tacoman 12-20-2014 10:24 AM

The movie sucks, but the intro is pure gold.

Christmas Vacation and Christmas Story have always been my favorite, but now that I have kids, there is nothing better than cuddling up to The Polar Express.

TimBone 12-21-2014 12:14 AM

Still taking submissions until noon tomorrow.

BucEyedPea 12-21-2014 12:24 AM

Well, I just finished watching Love Actually on Netflix. It was good but I wouldn't vote it as a number 1, jmo.

chiefs1111 12-21-2014 12:33 AM

Christmas Story but also a sucker for the old movies like White Christmas and Christmas in Connecticut etc.

RealSNR 12-21-2014 12:59 AM

The narrator's voice in A Christmas Story is the most annoying sound in the world.

Yes, even more than Jim Carrey's sound in Dumb and Dumber.

I ****ing hate A Christmas Story. That movie needs to die.

RealSNR 12-21-2014 01:03 AM

I'd rather watch Ernest Saves Christmas than A Christmas Story.

And no, that's not a nomination for Ernest Saves Christmas.
