Giant convenience store with gas. The store is like the size of a grocery store. There are 50 urinals. They also have like 80 gas pumps.

They are so odd, yet highly addictive. They are pretty much puffed Cheetos with a caramel coating, rather than fake cheese powder. There is a bit of a celery aftertaste.

Buc-ees are a TX staple, like Whataburger. Glad to see both making their way up here :)

Love the endless supply of briscuit sandwiches there. Just don’t stop there if you’re on a road trip and you’re trying to make good time.

I went to one last summer and it was .... horrifying. Maybe I've just spent too much time in wide open spaces but we were going to the beach for a family reunion on my wife's side of the family. We needed to get rid of our morning coffee and so we went into a Buc-ees.

It was a stop-n-rob from hell. Yes, the stores, including the restrooms, were clean. But there were so many people just standing there buying cheap shit and processed crappy food. Lots of people were standing around outside shoveling gas station food into their mouth. You had to wade through intense, noisy crowds just to go to the bathroom. it was 10x worse than a Chiefs game but at least at a Chiefs game I get to watch PMII. This was a combination of Wal-Mart on Black Friday and a Qwik-Mart. I don't eat gas station hot dogs and I really don't see why I should have to wade through 74,329 people who are standing in line for a gas station hot dog just so I can pee.

I just want a place where I can fill up my car, grab a Monster energy drink, and pee. (note the importance of the Oxford comma). I don't want to have to go through a rugby scrum to do it.

I get they're popular. I will just go to the next exit myself, thank you.

Have you tried Pappas Bros? Damn good steakhouse. It is a bit pricy but so worth it. Bone-in filet is killer, if you are really hungry you can get a tomahawk chop...pretend you're in the Flinstones ;) Excellent sides, fantastic liquor menu (they carry some top shelf Scotch whiskys that go well with steak!). It is upscale, so expect to see a lot of jackets w/o ties, women in dresses, etc. Business casual.

If you are heading up to Chicago from St. Louis there is a gas station called Wally's that seems like a knock off.

Clean bathrooms, the rest of it sucks. Overpriced gift shop and bland ass food.

Got a pulled pork sandwich from there once, and it tasted like straight up steamed un-seasoned meat. No smoke, and didn't even feel like that had any s+p on it. Garbage.

And even with 80 pumps, sometimes you're waiting for a pump.

Never done breakfast there. I usually pass them right by unless I need to use their restroom. If I'm ever in one again during breakfast, I'll check it out.

This probably doesn't matter to anyone but me, but I discovered yesterday that a Shake Shack has opened within walking distance of my house. I had no idea that this was happening. Given everything I've heard about them, I'm going to have to give it a try.

I've never stopped at a Bucees where the bathrooms weren't immaculate.

It’s an honor to take a dump there. There’s a chain of gas stations called Busy Bee in north Florida and South Georgia that has really nice bathrooms, too.

Buccees are the best place to stop on any road trip. Bathrooms are the cleanest you’ll ever find, their brisket sandwiches are good, the selections of jerky for that road trip are out of this world.

Just don’t fall into the trap of buying souvenirs That $10 stop can turn onto $100 spent really quickly.

I've always thought Wal-Marts were a pretty good place to take a dump at. It's big enough you can sneak in, do your business and sneak out without people knowing you took a dump

Pro tip: Buccees has fantastic beef jerky, but the best thing are the fresh “pepper beef sticks” at the counter. It’s essentially a dehydrated steak. They will also vacuum seal anything at the counter.

I have a roll of TP in my car that comes in handy many of times when I’m on road trips.

Faster and easier then those nasty public restrooms.

Yeah the gift shop portion reminded me of that junk they sell in Crackerbarrel except 10 times bigger.

While they have the processed food that exists at any convenience store, they also have their own food. I usually grab their chopped brisket sandwich which is fresh and decent for any BBQ outside of Kansas City. When traveling and needing a place to stop quick, I prefer buc-ees food over that of McDonalds or any quick drive through.

One just opened up on Lees Summit. Haven't gone to it yet. Only one I have been to is the one in Madison Park NYC.

My grandson had a rough night last night and he missed school because of it today. I just had a new set of tires put on my Vette so I took him with me for a ride to get him out of the house and some fresh air. If you know Springfield you'll know the roads, We drove down 65 HWY to James River FWY, then down James River all the way west of town to I-44 where we headed back east. We were just about back to 65 when he said he wanted to go to Buc-ees. We blew by 65 and drove the 6 miles to Buc-ees. That's the biggest gas station I've ever seen. I bet the gas pumps stretched for an 8th of a mile. We parked, went in and looked around the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market sized store. There was Buc-ees everything for sale. I got him an Icee and a pulled pork sandwich and he said it was good but not as good as mine. I had a bbq brisket sandwich and it was pretty damn good. He also got a Buc-ee the beaver. I wanted so bad to explain what a beaver is in regards to women is but he's only 12 and not into girls yet so I held back. I did have him saying mother bucker before we got out of there though. Bad Grandpa?

Anyway I have now been to Buc-ees.
