So, when in the 'timeline' is this supposed to be happening... before Infinity War, after Endgame? I'm assuming before Infinity War.
|
Mysterio's work sort of looks like Strange's magic.
I wonder if those are actually Sandman and Hydroman or just Mysterio illusions. |

Everything in the trailer was awesome except for 'MJ." What an annoying whiner.
|
I'm in. The kids will see it with me because they loved the first one.
|
Anyone else think this kind of screws with Endgame? I mean, now obviously Spidey is going to survive somehow.
Just seems weird. |

edit: She has literally two ****ing lines in this trailer and doesn't whine about anything. I'm pretty sure you're just being a bitch and hate that she isn't ginger. Also, it looks like we get a bit of the stealth spidey. |

Sequels for Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man and Black Panther were all confirmed prior to Infinity War. |
Anybody who came out of Infinity War thinking that all of those characters were staying dead......doesn't get comic books.
|
Always wanted to see Mysterio in a movie.

This looks awesome! Can't wait to see it.

This is supposed to be after end game...I've heard. Also we knew this was gonna happen.

Wait, that was supposed to be Mary Jane? WTF? |

Doesnt mean a thing. Other than Downey Jr. wasnt under contract obligations for this movie. |

Not a huge comics fan but I've always loved the Spiderman movies. Hulk too.
I'll be seeing this one. |
According to Coby Smulders, Maria Hill makes an appearance in this.

The MCU has earned the benefit of the doubt but I'm getting worried about the post-Infinity War movies... |
I wanna bang Aunt May!

Also for the record, in the comics, Peter didn't meet Gwen or Mary Jane until he was in college. |

Everybody bitching about comics and what they think is a new trend in taking on social justice issues is laughable. What the **** do you think comics were doing throughout their entire existence? Other than maybe the early Superman and early Batman, they were taking on social issues of the time. Stan Lee himself said so many times that he was trying to bring awareness of the issues forward. I guess you hate Stan Lee for that? Shit, wait, Superman was actually kicking Nazi ass before the US even declared war. A large number of Americans supported Germany before we joined, so Siegel and Shuster must have been pissing those people off with their view of social issues.
Deep down why do you care if the newest version of MJ isn't white? Why is that so upsetting to you? Seriously, why? Peter goes to a ****ing inner city school and somehow historically all his classmates are ****ing white... that is the least realistic thing in a series about a human gaining spider power. This came up in the spiderverse thread too. Somebody was pissed that Doc Oc in an alternate universe was female, and that iconic characters shouldn't be altered, yet they weren't bitching at all about the giant ****ing dragon version of Green Goblin. For **** sake, the X-Men comics are nearly entirely about treating everybody as equal and not judging them by their appearance or physical abilities. WTF do you think that is about? |

It's kind of like people bitching about progressive politics and 'sjw bullshit' on Star Trek Discovery. Like...hello. Star Trek. Progressive since 1965.

I'm hoping this is a troll comment because you can't be this ****ing stupid, but then maybe you are. |
Of course comics have always had the socialist/progressive undertones. I didn't read them to find my political center.
I think people finally had enough when they decided to start just straight gender swapping the most popular characters. Why did Iron Man, Thor, Wolverine, any of them have to become female at the Secret Wars reset? You want a female Iron Man, develop a new character and have one, but don't nuke a long time favorite in the name of femininity or some SJW agenda. Do some work and actually MAKE a new character that can compete with/against the old one. Anyone not named Logan trying to be Wolverine is nothing but a poser, no matter the sex, and that includes X-23 (and she's pretty awesome). Goes for all the old time, long time characters. IMHO, of course. |

either that, or i am for an infinite number of times, asking you this same question over and over? :D |

There are actual issues in our world today that need addressed. Lazy writing from SJW lunatics isn't doing anything of the sort. |
Well I think this movie would be great. Misterio 100% would be the villain, who would use a lot of illusions

Women's suffrage, the civil rights movement, slavery: all legit social justice issues. Free tampons, imaginary genders, and fanatical hatred of anything dissimilar are completely different. SJW's are a complete perversion of liberalism and "tolerance." It's not a one sided problem: republicans hijacked morality in the 80's and 90's to suppress free speech in music and media. Now the Dems are. |
Quote:
Well said. Although it should be noted that Tipper Gore (Democrat Al Gore's wife) was the one who started the PMRC. ;) |
Stan Lee always had the good sense to bring up social issues with analogy and alegory. Marvel, currently, does not use the A&A approach. Marvel now spells everything out for the reader and throws social justice (Maoist) content into the comics in a very ham-fisted way. that's why the comics dont/wont sell

Show - don't tell. I think Peter David was excellent at this in the 80's and 90's. |

It's a visual medium, and I didn't recognize the character because she's not a smoking hot pale skinned red head. I happen to like smoking hot pale skinned red heads. |

It makes as much sense as making Storm a white gal from Wisconsin or Wolverine from Mexico. Yes, it actually is important to the character. And if "race doesn't matter" why are the constantly changing it? I mean, that's the point is that it shouldn't matter what race you are, right? So why change it? |

Ok, so who is Gyllenhalls character? Tell me about him.

I'd bet a dollar that the giant monsters you see in the trailer are all just illusions. Mysterio is going to make himself a hero by defeating his own fake monsters, and then Spidey will get framed and have to prove the truth. |
That's not Sandman?
Nevermind, first couple clips looked like it could be the Sandman, but later ones not. |

Multiverse....can't wait for Porky Pig to show up in a spiderman costume.
|
Boy they foreshadowed Peter Parker becoming the next Iron Man hard in the latest trailer.
|
The individual movies feel a little hollow to me now.
****, i'm still depressed from Endgame. |
Can't wait for this...curious how the multiverse effects the rest of the mcu
|
Really good trailer.
If that multiverse thing is real and not a red herring, maybe that's how they get the X-Men and Fantastic Four into the MCU. Would certainly explain why they weren't around yet in canon. I know this is supposed to be the end of phase 2 but that sure looks like a place to start phase 3. |

IIRC, they said originally Endgame was the end of phase 3 but they added Spidey to it. |

Apparently reactions are coming in on social media. Everyone saying stay through the credits and saying it may be the best Spiderman movie and one of the better Marvel movies. July 2nd
@JimVejvoda: I liked it a tad more than Spider-Man: Homecoming, which I loved. Far From Home is a great afterword for Endgame, closing out Marvel Phase 3 with a bang while also setting up new challenges and exciting stuff ahead. That's all I'm gonna say until my review runs. |
I have read that the two after credits scenes are "paradigm shifting!"
