Raider is teh ghey

Thought anyone who puts one of those jerseys was automatically openly gay but I guess this is a thing. Disclaimer: I don't care who ****s who amongst consenting adults. |
I'm kind of surprised that we (until now) haven't had an active NFL player who has been "out." Seems like it should almost be a non-issue these days.
|
Damn, maybe Billay will be a Raiders fan now.

"Gay Man Comes Out of Closet As Raiders Player"

“Our DE rides around with an uzi, yours rides around with a dildo!”

He later added that while he is gay, he does not find Raiders owner Mark Davis attractive at all.

I, for one, am completely shocked. I simply cannot believe that Prison Bitch didn’t start this thread within minutes of the story breaking.

IIRC he came out when he was playing bc he had that long talk with fat Scott about his struggles.
Pretty sure they knew when he was a player |

Good for him. And thanks to him for doing it today so he could push Frank Clark to page two.

Bragging about meeting Taylor Swift in the context of why he didn't buy a Rolex should have been a clue.

Its ESPN's top story on the web it must be important or something.

Does being a racist make someone great? Being a serial killer? A wife beater? |
In TODAYS SOCIETY, I personally do not care - more power to him

How good is this guy?
I am speaking hypothetically, but say you were a fringe player, and you think you might get cut before the final roster is set. If you come out as gay, in today's climate you may be able to force the team to keep you on the roster, at least for a couple of weeks until the media coverage dies down. Sorry if this has already been said, I am just too tired to read the entire thread on my phone. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk |
The Raiders pass rush is asshole, he wasn't gonna get cut unless he was awful.

Hopefully this will encourage the rest of their roster

The implication would be that he was cut because he was gay, even if that's not the reason. Social media, especially Twitter, could start targeting the team, head coach, etc. in several different ways in retaliation for what they could consider bigotry and homophobia. They could even target team sponsors like Coke or Pepsi, etc. Look at the pressure put on companies that did business in Georgia after the voter suppression bill was passed. I am not saying it would be right, but I can see a team keeping that player on the roster just to avoid any possible backlash, at least for a week or two. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk |
Shouldn’t this officially go in “the Raiders Suck” thread?

Well, this will end up being a shitstorm. The team and players will now go under a woke microscope. The media will be waiting to pounce on anybody who says anything even remotely negative, while pumping Nassib up the greatest player ever, regardless of his abilities.
I'd rather it happened to Denver, but the Fade is nearly as good. |

Eh. Obviously there have been gay players before but now there might be some $$$ in this.

I thought this already happened; isn’t Carr openly gay?

Other than Michael Sam, who barely satisfies the "active, employed" part, other gay players have waited until after retirement to come out. |

Other than Michael Sam (whose entire story is chronicled in the NFL.com article) I can't think of another active player coming out. They've all been retired. |

We all saw the Tweets from the NFL and the Raiders PR department yesterday. Looks like unicorns and rainbows on the surface but you can pretty much bet it's not all roses in the locker room. |
Also, Nassib is pretty much guaranteed this year anyway. And unlike Michael Sam is good enough to be around for a while. So the raiders weren't going to cut him anyway. Maybe he just came out because he felt like it? Crazy thought.

The dude finally felt ready to come out and so he did. Possibly the timing of it was tweaked to coincide with Pride month but other than that, I just don't see anything huge he gets (or doesn't get) by doing so. |
Wonder if any Raiders players will come out as straight
|
I'm pretty sure Eric Winston was Gay for Casshole...
|
Not long after his announcement, the NFL expressed its support of Nassib on Twitter with its shield icon emblazoned in the rainbow colors of Pride Month.
