I felt the Karma coming.
I was worried about it. And I wasn't going to say anything about it before the game against the Rams just for the bad luck of it, I decided not to make a comment about it.
But a lot of fans here on CP have been very cocky, I mean I've been exceptionally happy and positive about the team, but if you have ever believed in karma, I thought we had it coming to us. I know we're just fans, and we don't make a difference in the game. And I'm not going to name names. And this game was everything everybody thought it was going to be, except for the fact that we were on the losing end of it,but I was feeling like we had some bad karma coming to us. And it happened. We've had some people from CP going to other websites and boasting, and I didn't feel very good about that. I was reading some of the comments at the Rams message boards, and they were right. It makes us all look like arrogant mother****ers. I do think that we were the better team. And I don't think fans make a difference in the game. But I do think they make a difference in karma. And I actually felt guilty when it came to a head. |
The type of fan interaction you are talking about has no bearing on the result of any game.
The result of the game had nothing to do with karma because some chiefs fans are boasting about their team. Lets not go overboard here. If karma existed, the chiefs would have already won another superbowl. |

If it's eventually revealed that Clay is actually Mahomes in disguise, I think you're onto something here. Otherwise, nah.
Well over half of the people on CP were convinced we'd find some new and creative way to lose against the Titans in the playoffs last year, and the reverse karma didn't work. We still found a creative way to lose. |
100% rams fans: omagurd... wur gunnah winn.
100% chiefs fans: omagurd... we're going to win. :D |

I still suffer battered fan syndrome, so I'm still expecting that creative way to lose scenario. I desperately need them to put that to rest this post season. |

Very few teams go 16-0 or 15-1.
They were going to lose a couple. We've lost on the road twice to two contenders by a combined total of 6 points. WBF |

Think of it this way. Have you EVER been more confident or been happier leading up to a bye week AFTER a Chief’s loss? Not me. Even if it’s not this year I finally KNOW that we are going to win the big game before I die. So screw karma. This forum is filled with the good, the bad and the ugly. Makes it more interesting.

I'm not a huge believer in karma but, I've tried to stay low key when it comes to the success of the team this year. In the past, I would have been right there screaming from the highest mountain, only to be disappointed and come tumbling back down to earth.
I think it has less to do with karma and more to do with because chiefs. |

Lot of people assumed Chiefs would destroy Arizona. One guy said it’s a practice game for Chiefs. When the game started, people began to panic with extreme doubt. Sometimes we should pump the brakes a little.

Clay and SweetDaddy need to spend a week at HogFarmer's place jerking some hogs off to right their wrongs. Those ****ers jinxed us.

You cannot seriously reference karma while discussing anything related to a league that sees the New England Patriots constantly compete for championships

Karma? Maybe we'll get a home game against one of these ****ing teams sometime soon. I guess the Chargers is coming up, but that barely counts, we'll always beat them anywhere.

This franchise doesn't have any history pre-2013. |
No such thing as Karma. If there was, Denver would have sucked from 1999 till the Chiefs, Raiders, and Chargers all won a super bowl or two. Big Ben would have had terrible seasons after his rape cases were done. Alex Smith would've won a Superbowl with either SF or KC. Belicheat wouldn't have won another SB after the cheating was discovered, etc. etc. etc. Karma doesn't exist in the NFL

No but there is a clustering of randoms and I feel like sometimes things can begin swaying in a certain way that your subconscious picks up on, like watching ripples in the ocean and sensing a swell before it happens. However, I feel like this phenomenon is created by picking up on all the evidence coming out of the locker room and front office, not the fan base. You can feel when your team is ripe for an upset. The way the players are talking, preparing, their mood, their voice. The over-confidence spreading across the locker room. Then a loss happens and that entire mood changes. I don't think the Chiefs are going to lose again, personally. |

After surviving the drought of so many years of pain, suffering, disappointment and letdowns....let the fans have some fun. If you've been around to take your medicine, you should be around to give it.
There is nothing to be ashamed or sad about from losing an away game to a 9-1 team, by 3 points, with shit officiating and giving up a free 21 points. That game was a wild ride. |

If karma existed....we would have lost to the Browns or Cardinals.

I don't buy the karma stuff, but i think the cocky trolls going to other boards is a terrible look. Maybe they like the idea of everyone thinking all Chiefs fans are douchebags, but i don't.

WTF is with this thread and this sentiment.
We are 9-2 with a total of 6 points in the two losses, both games we lost by a single play ten different times. Meaning there where ten times if we made one play we win that game. GTFO here with this weepy shit we are in first place with a GOAT QB. next. |

Yeah. That’s not Karma. That’s just Post Chief Stress Disorder (PCSD). Similar to PTSD but not psychological trauma, Chief trauma. Also led to the coinage and appropriation of the term “because Chiefs”.
PCSD is nothing to be trifle with. But there are promising new treatments in the pipeline. |

Karma? Nope. The realization that these guys are professionals and on any given Sunday, anything can (and according to some, will be made to) happen. I remember years in the 1980s when the Chiefs were absolutely terrible and yet they always managed to win games against teams that they had no chance against.
Teams like Arizona and Cleveland are especially troublesome because they have absolutely nothing to lose and because of years of bad records, will have a lot of players that were drafted pretty high in the draft. This is the first year that I've been able to not go crazy and get all worked up during games. It's entertainment, nothing more and while I hope the Chiefs do finally get a Superbowl or five, my life will be no different because of it. The wide open style of play is exciting however... It's missing something... |
I’ll take the bad karma blame. I started parting my hair on the other side when we lost to the Patriots. Parted it back to normal last week.
Sorry... |
If there was any truth to this nonsense at all, the Patriots would have stopped at 1 Superbowl. Most arrogant (with good reason) fans on the planet.
|
I was worried about this game, I still remain a bit worried about the Chargers as well. There is some cockiness here. Truth is, we can beat anyone. I don't have a doubt of that. One thing I've seen though is occasionally we get a lead and then take our foot off the gas. That allows an opportunity for other teams to get back in. Then if you have one bad bounce of the ball late in the game, you can lose. I have zero doubt we can beat anyone, I just want to see us close these games out better. Don't give the other team a window to get back in. We aren't finishing well enough yet and that's one of the few weaknesses we have. It's the reason the Patriots win those close games. Good clock management late. Score but leave the other team with little or no time and little of no timeouts. It's why the Patriots won. This game, we could have won anyways but earlier on we could have really put the Rams backs against the wall. They had no timeouts. It was a perfect setup to finish them off. We didn't do it. Then when it was our time to score, Mahomes get hit while throwing into double-coverage. Not smart late game football. Mahomes needs to be the guy who understands how to manage the clock late, we know Andy can't. It's up to him to figure that out.

Nothing a fan says or does has ANY impact on what happens on the field. I'm talking shit regardless. My buddies ain't giving me a break after a loss, whether I am humble before the game or not. So talk shit, poke your chest out, have fun with it. NFL reminded us on Monday that it is just entertainment.
