Damn RIP. These gigantic dudes don’t seem to live long lives unfortunately. I wonder what the average lifespan is for former NFL linemen.
|
Yeah I mean, he weighed like 350 coming out of college. Can't imagine it got much better
|
He left in free agency for New Orleans the same offseason we traded for Willie Roaf from New Orleans.
That's all I remember about him. Couldn't even tell you if he was good. |
Any relation to Riley Reid?
|
Sad.
|
RIP big fella.

But as Kiimo alluded to, he was 350 as a youth and maybe it just didn't get any better from there... probably why we're starting to see more and more big men make a conscious decision to slim down after retirement A heart can wear out quick trying to keep that much mass alive |
Sleep apnea?
|
I would've bet anything that he was a Marty guy back during the conservative Marty running heyday. I guess he was a Marty guy since he got drafted by Marty, but he only played one year for him. He ended up being more of a Gunther guy.

Can take a punch. |
When Krispy Kreme first came to KC, the company I worked for at the time was doing some promotional work for them. I was talking with the franchise owner and he mentioned that Chiefs players would come in frequently. Then he told me about how Victor Riley would order a dozen glazed donuts, stack them on top of each other and smash them down into one donut that he would eat right there.

On the subject of late 1990’s offensive tackle Chiefs first round draft picks, remember this… LMAO

RIP Victor Riley, I remember the hope you brought to the team |
Is this the guy who allegedly smacked up a woman when he was a Chief? I recall a running joke that a player was named "Smack my bitch up", but couldn't exactly pinpoint it.
|
RIP :(
|
Oh man, this is awful. R.I.P.
|
I remember the Tait loss. Being from Utah it was probably publicized.

Died in his sleep.. More than likely sleep apnea… RIP big man..

That’s a serious lifestyle change to have to get used to post career. I know Nate Newton used to be on billboards around town showing dramatic weight loss and he was unrecognizable. Tough to change when you’ve been a big eater your whole life.
