*** Thursday Night Disappointment - Dolphins @ Jaguars ***
Miami Dolphins (0-2)
at Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) 9/24 7:20pm CST on NFL Network |
Minshew Mania gonna run wild or will Fitzmagic ride again
|
The NFL was hoping Tua would be the Dolphins' starting QB by now when they scheduled this game.
|
Minshew Mania vs Fitzmagic. This game could be 51-47 or it could be 10-7 with 6 combined interceptions. Tune in tonight!
|
Honestly, I like what I've seen from Minshew, especially given the team he's playing on.
|
I haven’t really seen Minshew play. Will be interesting to see if he keeps ruining the Jags plans to draft Lawrence. And Fitzmagic will either be amazing or terrible in a fun, aw shucks kind of way. This will certainly be an entertaining game.
|
Got 10 GBP on Shenault and Gaskins to score.
Needed motivation to watch |
Minshew is a gamer.
|
Minshew has amazing level of swag
I caught one of his college games and it was bonkers, people wearing mustaches and shit ROFL |
This game is on Thursday night every year. It's like a staple to the NFL schedule. vomit

Thought last week would be a complete turd but was fairly interesting. Holding out hope Minshew will make this one worth watching all the way through.
Gonna take in as much football as I can after this awful covid sports drought. |

There's no way this is a 10-7 game. |

Minshew is a decent QB who can win games. |

I seem to recall last season Thursday games were mostly pretty good, if not somewhat sloppy.
|
I'm rooting for Miami since Fitzpatrick and Mike Gesicki were key players in our Super Bowl run.
Oh, hey. Ogbah is a Dolphin now, too. Let's see if he's wearing his Chiefs Super Bowl ring tonight. |
So if this weeks game is a disappointment then what about next weeks game?
|
Why are the Thursday night picks so consistently terrible and unattractive to neutrals who may view if the teams picked were interesting to watch.

Oh, they get the first game of the season which should be a good game because I guess the SB champs are in that one, and a couple others down the line, but most of the TNF match-ups are games the other networks weren't that interested in. |

As it stands right now, week 9 on doesn't appear too bad at all. Also week 5 & 6. :hmmm:

6,9,11 and 13 are the only ones that grab me currently though depending how the divisional races are going other games could increase in value.

Has it always been the case that Monday night has been viewed as more prestigious than Thursday and commanded better TV figures. |
I’ll enjoy this one I hope, bad teams and all. I like watching these two QBs just let their nuts hang.
Hoping Minshew secures the job long term. |

As for MNF, I think it's not nearly the game it used to be. When I was a kid it was THE GAME. I might miss a game on Sunday (back then there was no TNF and only two games televised on Sundays most of the time) but no one missed the MNF game. The whole country pretty much sat down for that one. So it was always the biggest game with the biggest names in it. Nowadays MNF isn't nearly as big a deal and the teams are not always the best in the league. |

I never would have thought Gardner Minshew would be as big as he is now after taking over for Nick Foles in Week 1 last season.
Jags by 10. |
Quote:
Two QBs that have a don’t care attitude and don’t play scared will make for a good game no matter the teams. |

TNF and MNF aren't what they used to be because they're on cable.
SNF is the new MNF because it's on broadcast TV. |

If it were still on ABC, it would be a lot bigger. I'm a huge boxing fan. The death of boxing as a premiere sport coincided almost directly with going from being on network TV to being exclusively on PPV. |

I wonder how Fitzpatrick feels when the pre-game QB hype is about his BACKUP. LOL
|
Its impossible for me to not root for Minshew, the sparky sixth rounder coming outta nowheresville
Only been able to watch him once, not to mention my work buddy is a big Fins fan... so tonight should offer up a bountiful harvest of grist for my snark mill BIG rep, and everlasting friendship for a decent link... |
A "teal" out in Jacksonville

Steve Smith is a terrible analyst.
|
Minshew even sounds like Joe Dirt.

Fitz is kind of crazy
|
Wow, that wsa a nice pitch and catch.
|
CJ Henderson gonna get his ass chewed
|
Fins are so mercurial. One week they look like a complete dumpster fire, the next they beat the Patsies.

Quote:
I love the guy but inevitably he will have one of his 3/4 picks game. |
This gon' be a shootout.
|
Fitz-MaJIK!!!
Atta boy, you crazy sumbitch!!! Nice start!!! |
ouch conley with the drop
|
Conley with the drop.
|
Don't miss Conley even a little bit.
|
wow looked like deep corner on the same side was open
hate when qb's throw short of the sticks on 3rd down |
Quote:
Who would we rather have? Conley or DRob? |
Fins couldnt ask for a better start, Fitz looks on tonight... and Good Fitz is usually good for a W

Hahaha, Fitzy with some wheels still!
|
Step aside Mahomes, Lamar and Kyler. The best running QB in the NFL is doing his thing.
|
Henderson having an atrocious first quarter.
|
I mulled starting the Jaguars defense in my fantasy league because of Fitz-ceptions.....
Woof, glad I dodged that bullet. (Shutup, everybody cares about my fantasy team.) |
Fins are rolling.
|
MIA looking like a playoff team.
