I'm sure it's been discussed so sorry to be that guy, but...
What site are people using to stream baseball these days? |
Let’s get those brooms out and Sweep the Twins!!

Turns out Gordo is still an elite fielder.
Woof
Has anybody noticed PMII is in the stands behind homeplate with a BIG shit eatin grin .
I luv it! |
That's ****ing right Dozier!!!!

I am digging Singer.

I'm feeling Singer's gonna drop a no hit game today. He's had two hard hit balls in the 1st and a diving catch by Gordo but he seems to be ON.

Don't do that Singer. Try to barehand a 101 mph hit.

Come on Salvy. Jack 1
Nice AB by Soler. Battled for a longtime there.
Lopez actually making contact this series.
Even a rough-ish outing for Singer, but only 2 runs allowed. Not bad.
Gordon needs to be benched
Gordon looks worse than ass at the plate.

Franco bomb.
Take a ****ing seat!!!!
Staumont throws gas. These hitters are so far behind that fastball.

Staumont is just filthy.

Rex just learned what a man bun is lol.

I haven't had a haircut since February. Strongly considering going man-bun just to troll my family.
That's just disgusting. No chance.
Josh Staumont is a bad, bad man

I'd never thought I'd say this but baseball has been so bad ass they really need to shorten the season and allow more playoff teams all the time makes this much more exciting
So if my calculations are correct Lopez is now 0 for 3 trying to steal this year.
Of course, why wouldn't we sweep the Twins?
If the bats keep showing up this could suddenly turn...fun?
Sweep! Just like we all predicted... annihilating the Twins.
Sweep
PLAYOFFS!!!!!
Even if it hadn’t worked out, I realllllly like Matheny experimenting with stretching out Staumont and closing with Barlow. Perfect time to do it.
Only 2 games back of the wild card!! I actually like our starting rotation now that Jorge Lopez is gone for good. Keller, Duffy, Junis, Singer is a good rotation
Take 2 from the Reds, and we’re right back in it. Crazy.

Why is the bullpen so awesome?

Two things: First, I love beating the shit out of the Twins. Their fans are the worst and they deserve the frustration of being swept by us. Second, thus far this bullpen is giving a 2012/1013 bullpen vibe...young guys that are getting their feet under them with some vets having good years. The difference is that we actually have decent starters coming into their own. Fully expect Kower to make his debut if there's an opening by Covid or injury. Time to get these guys acclimated is now.
3.5 back of the division... we just got Keller and Dozier... i think we win the division! Screw the other crappy teams.
Meanwhile the Cardinals have too play 55 games in 46 days

So, does anyone think this is real? Because if it’s real, I hope they crush it and make the playoffs.
If it’s not real, it hurts their chances at getting the #1 overall pick in Rocker. |
Quote:
Staumont is making his electric stuff play in the zone, Singer has held his own, and the offense is showing the life that it did in 2019 (it just didn't have a rotation). Matheny's bullpen management has been confusingly good to top it all off. Idk. Been fun to watch during the quarantine. |
Quote:
But if they can’t make a playoff push, I think it hurts them in the long run because with all of the young pitching talent along with guys like Witt, jr., adding Kumar Rocker would would launch this team into an era in which they could be in the playoffs every year and have a chance for a title far more frequently than every 30 years. |
We could have just taken one from both of the Chicago teams this could have been interesting already.
Quote:
The offense looks hit and miss because the strikeout/walk rate is horrible, but a lot of their hard-hit ball metrics have been really good. When they make contact they do damage. I wouldn't go crazy, but with the 8 team playoff you just need to stick around .500 to have a chance. |

Matheny has been great managing the pen. It appears that he has embraced some of the analytics with how he will bring in different guys based on what part of the lineup is coming up instead of having each guy looking at a specific inning.
Early review of Matheny's managing style DOES show that he, in fact, took his attempt to remake what he does tactically and improve it very seriously, and it wasn't just bullshit he was saying to get a new gig.
This team is pretty fun offensively when the guys who can carry the water - Merrifield, Soler, Perez, Dozier, Mondesi - do actually carry the water. Getting solid contributions from O'Hearn and the rest of the OF really helps, too. Franco is what he is, a guy you hit 7th and hope he occasionally punishes a mistake and puts a run or 2 on the board. Gordon is the weak spot in the lineup at the moment... wonder how much more leash Matheny gives him. Stabilizing the rotation with five actual starters has also improved the bullpen markedly as guys are used more predictably (Barlow, Holland, Kennedy, Rosenthal, Staumont know they are going to pitch 5th inning on). |

The have a ****-ton more than the Pirates. That looks like the likely #1 to me. That also might be the only team bad enough with pitchers to ruin Rocker. |
