NFL Season opener in Brasil
Green Bay Packers vs Philadelphia Eagles
The Green Bay Packers will open the 2024 season against the Philadelphia Eagles in Săo Paulo, Brazil. The NFL said Wednesday the Packers will play the Eagles on Sept. 6 at Arena Corinthians, home to the Brazilian soccer team SC Corinthians, in the league's first South American game. https://sports.yahoo.com/packers-ope...135102286.html Didn't see another thread. If I missed it my apologies. |
I’ll miss this one. I’m not signing up for Peacock
|
That's....lame and underwhelming
|
And not a **** was given that day
|
There will be a lot of hot ass at that game. Big picture guys.
|
I bet that is the second game of the season. After our start on the path to a three-peat on Thursday night.
|
Does Brazil even follow American football?
|
So this is instead of the hall of fame game? Or am I missing something

We opened a branch facility in Sao Palo about twenty years ago and I actually gave one of the managers a KC Chiefs SB IV commemorative football when he visited my office, as he seemed very interested. Sao Palo was a sad place to visit, so much poverty. |
Had a high school exchange student from Săo Paulo, in the early 90’s to my very small hometown. Can’t even imagine the enormous culture shock he must’ve had as a 16 year old. Very bright kid, but man…. When it snowed, that dude was on another planet. First time was an usual big snow over Halloween, nobody went trick or treating that year, and he had no reference to that activity, but the next day when the streets were full of snow, I visited his house family, as they were very close and remain good friends. You should have seen this guy…. In his best Portuguese but pretty good English, “WAT DIS DIS?!?!?” He was so concerned! Not even happy about seeing snow for perhaps the first time in his life…. Oh Guillermo….

Odds of at least one player getting arrested for solicitation or someone traveling with the team being robbed at gunpoint are 75%-78%

In 1987 during carnival I stayed for two weeks at R. Barata Ribeiro, 222 - Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 22040-002, Brazil
The Cruzeiro was in the middle of a collapse and they were changing currencies to the Cruzado, doing a reverse of 1000 old cruzeiros for 1 cruzado. Large bottle of beer on beach about .40, 5 shrimp on a stick about $1.50 and a giant dinner for 4 at a restaurant on Copacabana Beach boulevard of steak, veal, appetizers, sides, beers, drinks, wine and dessert came to $40 with tip. It eas crazy even back then. |
Greedy ****s just have to keep taking games away from their own fans

Right back at you. 😁 |
Well I'm definitely not watching. The direction this league is going - sad.

Carnival Cruise line is putting an NFL playing field on a cruise ship soon. It's happening!

Games in other countries should be "awarded" to the teams with the worst W-L records in the previous season.

This is great for weaning me away from football. |
Nope, I can't see watching this one, thanks, but no thanks NFL and Peacock.

However, I wouldn't watch a Packers-Eagles game if they were playing in my backyard. |

Yeah you would. |

Stadium capacity 47,000? They could empty out 1 square block of corrugated tin luxury condos and fill that up

Chiefs game on Thursday. Packers/Eagles… two NFC playoff teams from last year… on Friday. College football on Saturday. NFL on Sunday. MNF on Monday. Five straight days of football… that doesn’t suck. |

Are those fans attending in greater numbers going to pay near as much money as Packers or Eagles fans would pay. :hmmm: Is the NFL ever going to be more than a niche TV market outside of North America? I really doubt it. I think it's a drag for the teams regarding the travel, but whatever. Putting one off games on sites that require a monthly subscription is actually the bigger drag. |

Everyone in the US watched one form of NBC that night. Grown men getting paid to go to Brazil for work. Cry me a river. Only a 39k arena tho. Which is a miss i think. |
Did they choose the packers because the yellow and green in the Brazilian flag? Wouldn't shock me one bit.

The NFL thinks they are suddenly going to get people in these countries to start watching the NFL? I'm not buying it? I mean let's start dragging Pakistan cricket teams over and having them play in KC. You going to start watching on TV afterwards? Hopefully they put all the international games on Peacock and it's a complete flop. |

Football is an American sport. This is ours. The big games should be on American soil so if middle class American citizens can go see their teams if they choose to. |
Lol
To get less than $200 tickets at Lambeau you have to sit far and high. And know someone. Eagles average in the $300s. Middle class, lol. |

Good God you're dumb, NFL is showing these games in these countries because there are already Millions watching, Brazil has over 20m NFL viewers. Do you complain when Taylor Swift and Beyonce take their acts overseas or when American films make Billions overseas? |

Katipan, you know I love you but I have a suggestion for forum etiquette: consider using the 'reply' button so readers of your wonderful posts know to what you are responding. :Peace: |
No.
Im not sure I could be more turned off than if you presented me with a stupid man. It followed the post I was responding to. I'm not raising poorly trained men. |

Regardless, it is far cheaper to watch a game in USA than it is Brazil for the average American fan. That was my point. |
