Can I now openly criticize the Royals for cutting ties with Scott Alexander solely for the sake of trying to resign Hos?

Another pick for the Royals.

Coach 02-17-2018 10:30 PM

8 years?

Yeah, I know there's the opt-out after 5 years, but.... woof.

duncan_idaho 02-17-2018 10:31 PM

Thanks for everything, Hos. We'll always have New York.

Hammock Parties 02-17-2018 10:33 PM

Stings a lot less when he already brought you a ring.

Sure-Oz 02-17-2018 10:34 PM

Now the Royals gotta sign Morrison

Sure-Oz 02-17-2018 10:34 PM

Gonna miss Hos but this is what the Royals needed to happen.

jd1020 02-17-2018 10:35 PM

8 years for a guy averaging 2 WAR a season for his career.

Hammock Parties 02-17-2018 10:42 PM

Essentially a 5-year, $100 million deal.

For a guy who has never hit 30 HR.

Is this standard in baseball now?

mcaj22 02-17-2018 10:43 PM

I really doubt he sees the life of that contract as a Padre, I don't even think Hos will make it to the 5th season opt out (unless he has a no trade) That's going to be 5 losing seasons in a row for him garunteed. Hos will get sick of that quick. There is no windows for the Padres in the division they play in as long as the Dodgers, Diamondbacks and Giants exist.

Hometown kid that would come way cheaper. Get it done, Dayton.

CaliforniaChief 02-17-2018 10:49 PM

Good luck, Hoz. Thanks for one of the greatest memories I'll ever have with my son, watching him launch the home run in Game 2 of the ALDS in Anaheim. (The Angels haven't been in the playoffs since, BTW) What a night. What a run.

Looks like the offer that we reportedly gave him was bullshit after all.
