BTW: After hitting his second home run, why is Mookie Betts not getting drilled in his third AB? I hate how soft our pitchers are.

Alex Gordon is now up to .274, which is the highest his BA has been since he was hitting .275 on Sept. 19, 2015.

Soren Petro had some dude on from 538 talking about taking. Teams that lost 90+ had about the same amount of wins 5 years down the road as teams who were middle of the road. Pretty interesting stuff.

Salvy with the 2 run bomb...4-2 good guys.
|
Skoglund has been let down by his OF defense today
|
Now that was a Gordon BOMB!! 5-3
|
Gordodong!
|
Could Gordon actually be "fixed"?
|
And we just keep giving runs back
|
Surprised Ned denied Skoglund a chance at the win
|
This team's not even worth a time-suck at work. Back to the grindstone.
|
Soler power!
|
Gordon can hit again. Salvy looks better than ever. Soler is hitting like a definite all-star.
This is nice. |
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Royal hitter receive this type of fear from opposing pitchers. Dayton Moore may need to involve Wade Davis in trades more often.
|
Gordon with three hits? What year is this?
|
What kind of a bizarro world are we living in where Gordon and Soler are leading us to victory?

Can the BP hold the lead?
|
And here we go....first 2 on for the Tiggers
|
McCarthy has been really good.
|
Nice job!
|
Badass Blaine Boyer
|
Royals should add on another run just to be sure.
|
VICTORY
|
A rare home win. Watch out for these guys.
|
Royals win. Gordon is hitting a little, that's good. Our starting pitching has been OK, although the only starter with a winning record is Junis. Hammel and Duffy are both still winless.
|
Wow, I had to go pick up the grandsons from school, and missed Soler's 441 ft HR.

Soler trade looks better every day.

This is the player we hoped they were adding last season. The patience and power are a great combination, and the weight he lost has helped with his flexibility and reach. He’s getting that little extra extension he needs to get out in front of balls on the outer half and make hard, lofted contact to LF. |
Duffy can GTFO
so done with that guy. |

Not a playoff team, but it’s nice to see them at least competing every day. Salvys dust up against the shit Sox seems to have given them a spark.

But those young guys saw a World Series MVP protect them. May have done something in the locker room. |

Happy Star Wars Day! Celebrate by knowing that Brandon Maurer is no longer on the 40-man roster; he was outrighted to Omaha yesterday (meaning he passed through waivers and, shockingly, nobody claimed him).
Maurer in AAA: 8 IP, 13 H, 12 ER, 7 BB, 11 K, 13.50 ERA |
I wish someone would have claimed Maurer. Man, he stinks.
The really good news is that Lee, Matias, and Pratto and Melendez are all playing well. Gigliotti tore his ACL, so that’s less-good news. I’m excited to see what they do in the draft. Add a few high upside arms and/or a dynamic center fielder, and it could get really interesting in a few years with the home-grown talent. |
I wonder if Salvy is trying to find a new team?

Healthy Duffy is a good 2/3 starter. I don’t believe he’s fully healthy. If they need to shelve him to get healthy, they should shelve him. |

I just think he has options, and I'm wondering if he's wondering if he should consider them. |
Soler is turning into a special player before our eyes.

Heckuva win

The other amazing thing from tonight is that the Royals are only 7 games out of first place. Never would have guessed that. That's really not bad considering they're 10-22.
|
Alex Gordon watch: still over .300

Soler is looking like a good pick up

I think the shoulder is still not 100 percent. His velocity is down a couple MPH. Usually a warning sign. |
Jorge Soler rules.

First series win, FTW!
(It was bound to happen eventually) |
The way the division is going, if they had just played .400 in the first 25 games instead of the pathetic .200 they'd be in the race.
|
Jake Junis needs to be in Kansas City for a long time.

About time for Junis to come up hurt.
Because Royals. |
