It's a duck...a sleeping duck with his head under his wings...he must have been watching the webcam too and the boredom put him to asleep.

What the hell is that in the upper right corner? It was drinking earlier and kinda looked like a Rhino. How big is this watering hole? It could be a puddle.

Ok, who can tell me which way the camera is facing? This should be easy if you know about the outdoors at all.

Lzen 11-14-2006 10:24 PM

west

FAX 11-14-2006 10:25 PM

I think it's facing west towards the water hole and away from all the animals, Mr. Bwana.

FAX

Bwana 11-14-2006 10:31 PM

Yes and yes.............now tell me why.

Lzen 11-14-2006 10:33 PM

Sun just came up about an hour or so ago. Shadows are going away from the camera. Therefore, sun must be behind camera. Sun comes up in east.

FAX 11-14-2006 10:34 PM

No.

Oh, okay, Mr. Bwana ... hmmm ... because if it was facing the other way we couldn't see the water?

FAX

FAX 11-14-2006 10:37 PM

Because when the animals look for the camera in the morning they can't see it because the sun blinds their eyes and makes them blink?

The prevailing winds appear to be from the west as well, Mr. Bwana. Carrying the scent of the camera away from the water.

We used to have pheasant and quail every Thanksgiving, when I was a boy.

Hunt in the morning and serve up mini turkeys that afternoon. Those were the days.

Take some pheasant, stuff it with apple, onion, and celery. Wrap it up with bacon. Put it in the smoker.

I think it's a grazing animal, Mr. Bwana. Pretty large, though. Difficult to tell from this distance and resolution.

Upland bird hunting isn't as bad as sitting around waiting for ducks and geese when it's below zero with a stiff wind. You hang out to long in that stuff and you start losing body parts and go by he nick name "Stubby."

That's a fact. I hate duck hunting for that exact reason. I prefer to do my drinking in more civilized surroundings. And, with cute waitresses in attendance.
