I don't understand the injury concern, Inmen. It's not like Mahomes will get 'extra lives' after this year to remain healthy. Nothing is guaranteed. He's just as likely to get injured next week as he was last week or in the future.

I think next week is 'meaningful' if he plays. Who knows what we would do? I'm not saying he's taking us to the SB this year -- he isn't. But the spark it might provide could make the team better.

He can be that much better for next year with having 6 games NFL experience. He can build that "chemistry" with the guys and know what he needs to work on this offseason.

It won't ruin him it will benefit him and the team and provide a spark. Alex Smith is dead in the water and we will lose first round so why not give the kid experience.
