Sometimes I hate being right.

What are the chances that KU (along with Virginia) can even play in the NCAA tournament?

And there it is, we got burned by it ourselves now and could be out of the NCAAs too (and might as well be, if one of our top players tested positive and will have to sit a few weeks).

Just so incredibly stupid and shortsighted to have played these games at the time they did.

Depends how many will test positive in the coming days. And let's say it is Garrett who tested positive and will miss time, are we even going to win a game anyway?

Maybe the NCAA will actually use their brains for a change and push the tourney back two weeks? That two weeks can be used for isolating teams inside their own bubble in preparation for the tournament.

Your idea makes sense and is obviously what should have been done here (they've done something similar in Calgary to put on Canada's curling events this year for example).

And while I wouldn't completely say no chance (especially if more teams get hit in the next few days), I expect there's very little chance of them moving a TV event of this size into baseball season and outside of its standard window.

Man if only we could have seen this very predictable thing coming.

KC_Connection 03-12-2021 01:09 PM

NCAAs will be cancelling games left and right next week if they're cancelling after one positive COVID test. Not having any run up time to quarantine/bubble was hilariously shortsighted.

Also the most NCAA thing ever.

How about a nice Hawaiian Punch?

Why are conference games still happening at this point? Why would Baylor take the court for two meaningless games when their 1 seed is all but locked up? I know the answer is obviously money but will be so stupid of another team goes down after THIS AMOUNT of warning and more student athletes get exposed for literally no reason.

I'm in awe of the stupidity it takes to bring teams from around the country together to play games 4 F-ING DAYS before the first NCAA tournament games.

At this point its a real possibility that a Covid outbreak could happen inside the Indy "bubble" and bring the tournament to a screeching halt.
