Brett was a consistent contact hitter and a pure hitter at that.

Hosmer's swing and plate discipline will never equate.

I was watching it, too. The context of it was in-terms of Hosmer being a Brett-like figure (aka face of the franchise) to the community if he were to sign long-term. They were in no way comparing Hosmer and Brett's baseball abilities.

You took their words and completely butchered them.
