I go by my African name
Farah Labdouni |
My birth certificate says Timothy. I introduce myself as Tim. Most of my friends usually end up calling me Timbone.

I was named after my father, a Vietnamese PSC inspector from the Vung Tau Port in Vietnam.

I use last names a lot. I had one person always tell me "my name is Drew" after I would call him by his last name. Nicknames work better than first names too.
|
I have business people and people who don't know me well call me my first name no nickname but my good friends always call me by my nickname, which has nothing to do with my first name but my last.
|
Many of my friends started calling me by my initials (PK), for some reason, as early as high school, and it's probably what most everyone but my Family call me.
|
I go by a nickname. Tobi with an i, with an accent over the i and a little line over the o, so you know it's a long vowel sound and not a short one. And sometimes I like to dot the i with a little smiley face or a heart or something. Something to brighten the reader's day.

I've always been identified by a relatively uncommon—though not unique—form of my given first name.
That and "Hey, asshole." |
BC name is Joey but I introduce myself and usually am called Joe.The mrs always likes to tell people whenever i hear someone call him Joey I know immediately they know him from way back.
|
Nickname not related to my real name. A handful of people call me by my real name. And then there are a few that emphasize my real name thinking it pisses me off...which it doesn't. And then there are a few people that added to my nickname that I find humorous.
