Yep. Incredibly impressive performance. For a dual threat QB he makes some incredibly clutch throws when he needs to. I had kind of wondered why Jackson has been sort of written off but actually getting to watch Hurts for a full game explained it. He's just much better.

I had the opposite impression Mr. turtle. I told my mom to record the game so I will have a VHS tape to review shortly, but my impression was that Hurts did nathan dot com. He took several snaps and held the ball while an entire backfield charged him and blasted him through the line of scrimmage. I wouldn't exactly call that skill. You would?

Was that one of the greatest Super Bowls games!?

At least in modern history? I can't recall a game that close since the Titans lost by 1 yard.

Yeah, not even going to bother. Hurts put on a damn fine performance and made some incredible throws into tight windows, especially to Goedert.

When I compare Hurts performance to Burrows in the AFCCG its like night and day.

Sassy Squatch 02-13-2023 08:00 AM

Also impressed by his demeanor overall. For as much as a douchebag Sirianni is, Hurts seems to go the exact opposite.

Indian Chief 02-13-2023 08:13 AM

Nothing but respect for Hurts. The guy went toe to toe with Mahomes. I know a lot of people were questioning where he fits in the QB rankings this year -- put him right behind Patrick as far as I'm concerned. He showed me more yesterday than I've ever seen from Jackson or Herbert.

BlackHelicopters 02-13-2023 08:17 AM

Agreed which is why I never understood why people wanted to call him Lamar light. He is a much better thrower than Lamar and far more poised as a QB.

Right? There are a lot of reasons why the Eagles lost, but Hurts play was not one of them. He dang near willed that team to a SB despite of his defense doing him no favors. Respect and hit tip to Hurts.

Yup. From a run first QB as a freshman at Alabama to a monster SB performance with his arm and his legs is truly special. He has developed far beyond what most thought he would and has been more clutch than many QBs ranked over him. He showed more when it mattered than any other young QB not named Mahomes.

RunKC 02-13-2023 08:35 AM

33 passes to 19 RB designed runs

Andy ran the ball about 37% of the time. He relied on the run and it worked.

Holy shit.

(I'm assuming Brady is the one win).

I read this as well, but it’s a weird stat. I believe the 1 would be the Patriots in 2016 against the Falcons. Obviously it’s now 2-26 with our win last night.

But the “at halftime” is the qualifier you have to pay attention to. From memory, the Chiefs were down 10 points to the 49ers in LIV in the 4th quarter and I’m pretty sure the Patriots were down 10 or more into the 3rd or 4th quarter against the Seahawks as well.

Makes it a liiiiittle less impressive, but still cool that it’s basically only been done by Brady and Mahomes.

Eagles defense was fully rested from not playing in the first half.

They have no excuses. In a normal game they would have given up 500 yards.

With his legs, he doesn’t need to be a great thrower to be elite. He just needs to be Alex Smith.

Josh Allen is a rare example of a QB with an elite arm and legs. Allen’s problem is that he throws himself into contact like a 1990’s neckguard fullback. With Hurts, his biggest obstacle is his coach who more than happily playcalls him into contact in meaningless regular season games.

Hurts is a great QB, but you have to spread the love around or you become one dimensional, and that will bite you in the ass.

Hurts 3 TDs
Brown 1 TD
RB 1TD

Kelce 1 TD
Toney 1TD
Moore 1TD
Pacheco 1TD

Guessing they took one look at the DC forum and called their ISP to permanently IP-block them from the site.
