They had the 17th ranked run D last season. Have they added anyone?
Changed anything? Were their players young, and maybe progressing? Tell me what'cha know. Clayton Please don't respond. No Offense, but I don't need any slanted info.

Their major addition is Mike Nolan as defensive coordinator. His defense is always good for the first year wherever he goes.

They lost Curtis Loften, MLB, and he was good.

They signed Lofa Tatupu, MLB, and he is already out for the year.

They have a second year MLB, Akeem Dent, starting but he got hurt and had a concussion in the first game. Now they have ancient Mike Peterson at MLB.

In other words, MLB is a mess.

Thei defensive tackles are nothing special. Their safeties aren't to good (Decoud and Chris Hope).

Weatherspoon is pretty good at OLB. Nicholas is below average.

They traded for Samuel so they are loaded at CB and will play in the nickel most of the time. Samuel, Grimes, and Robinson is going to be hard on us.
Abraham and Edwards are decent at DE. They have Jerry (former first rounder) and Babineaux (?) at DT. Pretty average at DT.

I think their run defense will be suspect.

We will have to run the ball well to win. Moeaki and Boss will be the #1 targets in the passing game.

If they're running in the nickel a lot we're going to run it up their ass all game long.

I hope so. When they come out of the nickel, we need to find Moeaki or Boss.

I think we will beat them. Their offense worries me a little but, then I think about Sam Baker going against Tamba and Matt Ryan's first game in Arrowhead. Remember Vick's first game in Arrowhead? We won 56-10 and it was the last time Atlanta came to KC. They have never won at Arrowhead. It's going to be tough on Ryan.

Ryan is a much better "pocket" QB than Vick.

As much as Gunther sucked....he had a great gameplan for Vick that day.

That was a fun game to go to.....8 rushing TD's. That is a record that may never happen again.

BossChief 08-16-2012 09:33 AM

I bet we put up almost 200 yards rushing against Atlanta.

I agree. Jones, White, and Douglas scare me. Those are going to be tough match ups for us. Douglas versus Arenas could be really bad for us. Gonzalez will be out to prove something too.

I really think the difference will be the crowd noise and Tamba Hali verses Sam Baker. Same is dead meat.

Should I list the other QBs drafted 5th or later?

Do you have time?

I get your point, but don't you think Stanzi suffers in the fans' judgement because of the glamor of the position he plays? In the same draft we got Powe who on some draft boards was a 2nd rounder (as with Stanzi). Yet almost everybody here (including myself) are rooting for him to succeed, while some are cock sure Stanzi is garbage because he didn't get drafted in the 2nd round instead of 5th.

Best team my ass.

They won't come close to 03.

If they get EXTREMELY lucky they may be close to the 05 team.

(I've been here since '02, BTW)

This team has a solid defense. The 03 and 05 teams had a bunch of nuns playing football for us coached by Father Robinson.

Everybody sucks in Cleveland. Didn't Belichik?

Ther Cards where in their 2nd preseason game and therefore should be considered more game-prepared. Also didn't they stand up reasonably well against a good team the week before?

Because he's Cassel.

He beats good teams less than 20 percent of the time.

In all fairness, even 2 years ago he didn't have the personnel around him that he has now.

I have voted against banning Clay. But can we ban him just until AFTER the week 1 game so he could post game GIFs? His poison against the Chiefs might actually create bad luck for the Chiefs.

;)

I am not saying he is anywhere near Rodgers talent level but we have to play like they do. I did some research on Rogers in the past and check this out.

Rodgers is....

4-17 when losing by 7 or less or tied going into the 4th quarter

10-7 when winning by 7 or less going into the 4th quarter

3-12 when losing going into the 4th quarter

3-2 when tied going into the 4th quarter

0-5 in overtime

The point is that he can sling it around and put up the biggest numbers in the planet but if you put him in a pressure situation where he has to do it in the 4th quarter, more than likely he will fail. It's the way we beat Green Bay last year. He even gets nervous when he is winning and within seven points in the 4th quarter. They never trailed going into the 4th quarter once when they won the Superbowl.

Cassel is the same way. We need to score and get way ahead like Green Bay does. We can't play Marty Ball with Cassel as our QB. We need to get the lead and hold on with our defense. This is the recipe for KC.

I can't believe I actually agree with something you posted.

That's giving Clay too much credit on many levels. ;)

This place has become completely overrun by stupidity.

Has nothing to do with the other QB's, just saying he hit a WIDE OPEN guy for his only long completion. He's still Cassel.

Chiefnj2 08-16-2012 11:19 AM

Throwing to open receivers = bad.
