Nice play there.

The photo works out OK for Caleb though. No one is second guessing his testosterone levels as long as he's standing next to such a specimen.

a) I think the creepy video that surfaced of Diddy seemingly grooming a young Bieber happens more often than people likely think in that world

b) A lot of new rappers are actually from the streets and many have likely spent some court mandated time around nothing but other men in close quarters, so you can draw your own conclusions

That said I'm recording a Bears pre-season game just to watch Caleb so...

After a slow start, he's made some impressive plays

smithandrew051 08-17-2024 12:23 PM

There’s a great chance that he sets the Bears record for passing yards and TDs in a season this year.

Pablo 08-17-2024 12:23 PM

He may be zesty but he’s fun to watch

Against what depth, was he playing against the 1st string or fringe backups

RunKC 08-17-2024 12:27 PM

Hope the Bears and Lions take over the division for years. Packers deserve to suck

2nd string started on defense. Williams has looked like your average rookie QB.

displacedinMN 08-17-2024 12:38 PM

Oh, but he is so Mahomeslike

Yep, this sums it up.

Great talent who is overhated on here. Used to live in Chicago. To say they're sports mad over there will be an understatement. They deserve some hapinesss after decades and decades of absolute QB hell.

Watched most of the half. He struggled big time against the Bengals 2nd string backups. Went 2/6 for 19 yards and three straight three and outs. Then in his fourth drive he threw a deep ball that drew a defensive foul and put them in the redzone. He thrn took a sack that killed the drive and had to settle for a field goal. Then he came out for his fifth drive and at this point the bengals were working in third stringers according to Bengals twitter. And that's when Caleb came alive. Threw a great pass moving to his left for 40 yards and then scrambled for a touchdown inside the redzone.

The media will hype up the last two plays. And no doubt they were good. But the issue he's always had remains the same. On script he had no answers. And in four trips to thr redzone he's not thrown a single TD pass.

We'll see how he goes but remember he will be 23 years old in November. At Caleb's age Pat already had a year as a backup and went on to throw 50 td's and 5000 yards. Caleb will have to deal with the pressure the media are placing on him just like Pat did.

Mahomes was a little bit the same way his rookie preseason year (2017). Just a little bit unsure through the progression of the play. Only took him a year to move out of that stage and light everything on fire.

I think this rookie year with Caleb is roughly the closest we're going to get to seeing what would happen in an alt universe where Mahomes started in 2017. Obviously there's no accounting for Andy Reid versus Matt ****ing Eberflus, and even for going #1 overall, I still think Mahomes at 10 was the better prospect coming out of college, but I think it's a close approximation.
