Are there any guys like that actually available at OLB, outside of the draft? Honest question.

Not saying you are wrong about not signing anyone over 30 but that is exactly how Young plays. Dude plays like his hair is on fire.

However, he did have a torn triceps last year so may be hitting the brokedick stage of his career. Just looking at the various options.

Uh what? They have over 20 million.

Not to mention that NFL contracts can always be manipulated, we've seen the Chiefs offer large signing bonuses in the past to bring guys in on moderate annual contracts.

No one is out of reach for the Chiefs, plenty of purse to spend if we're willing to get creative.

I say **** it, pay The Badger AND Talib lol

No.

The Chiefs under Veach are trying to build a young Super Bowl contender.

Throwing dollars at old guys or guys that have a long injury history doesn’t fit that plan.

Makes for a cheap contract. Nice.

If people have not figured out that this isn't your fathers Chiefs team they are just idiots.

Melvin of the Colts is being allowed to test free agency.

If the criteria is really guys under 30 only, that's kind of stupid. There are so many holes you have to fill, some of them have to be plugged with older veterans or guys with injury history, for the right price in a way that you can walk away from easily, while you work on getting younger.

You can just fill the roster with undrafted guys just to be younger.

Yes please. No idea what kind of contract that would require though.

Couch-Potato 03-01-2018 07:20 AM

Would talib restructure his deal if traded? He’s not as young as the badger, but cheaper

Exactly.

You can sign some of those older players to short deals and draft their replacement to develop while they're playing out the deal.

That's the ideal thing to do and seems to be what Dorsey tried to do, just didn't hit the draft picks like he needed to.

Mathieu would be interesting in that he's only 25.

Market inefficiencies are guys like Wilkerson if they pan out. Cheaper vet deal on a guy looking to get another big payday.

Go ahead and list the over 30 players that have been successful Free Agent signings for the Chiefs.
