That first guy, Angry Joe, makes a good point. I looked at reviews and the game sites gave Madden 19 good scores. But then you go on Youtube (and also Chiefs Planet) and real people are giving you honest reviews and Madden isn't doing so well this year. And I really couldn't care less about MUT. That's not why I play Madden. I think I'm gonna go ahead and send back my copy. I've been sitting on it a couple of days going back and forth but these reviews pretty much decided for me.

It's the same each year, they release the game with a thousand bugs, then have a patch come out shortly after release and other patches to follow the bugs that come with the previous patch. It's glorious.

I think it's more than that though. Ever since MUT has come into play.....75-80% of the upgrades in the game have been for that. Think about how much money they make based off the MUT aspect of their game. They've put none of that money into bettering Franchise mode. ****....they created Longshot last year and then removed the "Telltale" aspect of the mode by getting rid of the responses (I'm going off of videos and reviews that I've seen). Madden's business model now is MUT, MUT and more MUT. Spend all of your money on fake cards that won't be worth shit in a year when we release a new game!

But what do I expect? It's ****ing Electronic Arts.

You absolutely have to do that to get acclimated to how the game works.

In higher difficultys, you have to choose the right catch animation to be sure to get the ball.

You 100% MUST high point a lob in traffic, which is what I think peoples issue is. As I have gotten more comfortable with that kind of stuff, the gameplay has improved alot.

ive played two full franchise seasons on madden 19 and haven't had any of these major issues. There have been some bugs sure which is still shitty because they should fix that easily. the real player motion thing i had something cool happen. On a goal line run i ran into the back of my lineman and instead of hitting him and being stuck my running back put his hand out and pushed himself to the side and got the score. I thought it was pretty cool and it looked really realistic

LMAO Still no patches for the game breaking shit. You can't shut out the CPU or at the end of the game it'll say that you lost by 1 point, no matter what your score was.

ive shut the cpu out two times in my franchise and it hasnt changed the scoreyet

I had a game where I was up by 13 in the 4th; got the ball back with like 5 minutes left (I play on 8 minute quarters); trying to work the clock, and there were no less than 5 'injuries' that stopped the clock. But I never knew who, what team, or what the injury was. I noticed after the last patch, it at least shows who had the injury.

but it's still lame. I ran a dive run play, working the clock; ...booom. injury. Tyreek Hill. Broken collerbone.


I've also had serious questions about the CPU. I usually just sim defense and play on offense or do the 20 minute experience etc. I've had games where I would have near quarter eating drives; CPUS gets the ball....and just go down and score in what seems like 4 plays taking only like 50 seconds. seemingly every time.


seems like either way, the CPU will keep it to a 1 or 2 score game. If I just toss it all over the place and go nu huddle and put up a ton of points...the CPU is always there within a score. If I have 25 minutes of TOP in a 32 minute game, the CPU is always there within a score.

and, it's even worse when you play against the CPU and they are Pitt, NE, etc..
I play as simulation and try to play as close to real life as possible. Good run/pass balance. clock management, punting it away etc. Seems like none of it matters.


It's not a good game; maybe if you haven't bought it in a few years it would be nice. But, from 18 to 19...meh.

Now I'm just patiently waiting it out for Red Dead Redemption 2. once it comes out, I probably wont' even touch Madden until March. Maybe by then, they will have fixed some issues. I dunno.

This glitchy piece of ****.

This game has locked up on me, so I turned it off and restarted the game.

The game now has a menu screen from one of the tutorials down in the bottom corner and there's no way to get rid of it. Had to delete/re-install the game.

Going to be super pissed off if this happens again and I'm further into the game.

I played Madden heavy every year from 93 to 2016. The last couple years just didn't do it for me. All they care about is stupid ass MUT and story mode. I just like to franchise offline. And you still can't play co-op with a friend in franchise mode can you? I've been waiting for that for decades.

On the menu I wasn't given the option to continue my Franchise, so I open the file manager and find my Franchise save file AND the autosave file, but I can't open either of them. Not an error message or a notification that they're corrupted too, just not an option to open either file.

What in the hell is wrong with the ass-hats who designed this abortion?

Fixed an issue causing the AI to always use Four Verticals as the default play when calling an audible out of FG Block to prevent exploits
Catching
Updated the formula used to determine defenders' ability to play the ball in the air to allow for more opportunities for defenders to use jump catches, specifically user-controlled defenders
NOTE: Instead of using the Spectacular Catch (SPC) rating to determine if a defender can play a jumping catch or a 180-catch when not facing the QB, we are now using a combination of the Jump (JMP) and Agility (AGI) ratings – in order for a defender to have the ability to play a high ball or catch a pass over his shoulder, he must have at least a 75-rating in Jump AND an 80-rating in Agility. This should reduce situations where the defender fails to play the ball in coverage. This change will have no impact on offensive players and will be used across all game styles and difficulty levels.
Fixed an issue preventing a catch animation from playing on user-controlled defenders when holding the Play Ball button before the pass is released
NOTE: When holding any catch or play-receiver button before the pass is in the air, users on defense will now get an animation corresponding to the button input. This should be considered as an Early Ball Hawk penalty that will decrease the catch chance, but we are still adding improvements to that logic for a future title update.
Fixed a rare issue causing kick returners to incorrectly use a catch drop animation after catching the ball, in which case he would stand in place with the ball and not run
Tuning to better balance catch outcomes for mid-air catch interactions (interactions that occur at the catch point with both the defender and the receiver jumping in the air), specifically to reduce the frequency of completed passes when throwing high balls to covered receivers
Fixed a player warping issue on kick returns
Fixed an exploit used on kick returns that resulted in an incorrect Safety ruling when the returner caught the ball near the sidelines and ran out of bounds

Made improvements to blocking logic for RBs in pass protection to improve blitz pick-ups dealing with slot CBs in a contain assignment
Tuning to improve pass blocking logic vs. blitz set-ups where the user-controlled defender or a QB Spy defender idles near the line of scrimmage to force blockers to target him
Tuning to improve blockers getting out of run-block double teams and to their secondary target
Tuning to improve blocking logic for Crack blockers on Toss Crack running plays
Fixed an issue causing the center to keep the ball on the Pass Mechanics drill in the Skills Trainer Gauntlet
Fixed an issue causing a specific defensive-win block shed to occur too frequently vs. run block double teams
NFL Rules
Fixed a rare issue on punt blocks where the ball would go out of bounds and the kicking team would incorrectly retain possession of the ball on the opposite side of the field
Added support for new NFL Rules point of emphasis – any ball carrier who dives forward to give himself up on the play will be ruled down at the spot of the ball when the first body part that is not a hand or foot hits the ground, whether he is touched by a defender or not.

Though I am “sort of” getting the hang of playing franchise as an owner. I usually play a franchise as myself in various positions etc. it’s “usually” pretty fun, but this year it was bad. The game play feels totally different when playing in that way. So I gave owner mode a shot.

It’s still pretty hokey. All the finance portion of things (ticket prices, merchant, concessions etc) seems pointless. I literally lowered concessions on a few items to their lowest prices and still had negative fan feedback. (Maybe that’s just like real life lol).

I opted to not scout, as that whole ordeal seemed like unnecessary button clicking if it’s anything like Madden 18. Maybe I’m just getting older but I just don’t “want” to spend hours in a game each time I sit down. I used to love to spend hours upon hours building a team etc. now I can barely bring myself to okay more than one game in a session.

But if we DO still have to sign up, whats the process and how do they even know I'm signed up?
