Sorry but use your garage.
Even a high quality, fitted cover is going to flap in the wind and rub whatever dust/dirt might be on your car scratching the finish. |

Forget the pool table, use the garage. There is really no other good choice.
|
If it's THAT big a deal to you, you could always go with a Car capsule.
http://carcapsule.com/ We have one here in in the shop that we never used. It's been sitting new in the box for years, im sure i can get it to you for a good price. |

Throw the other car out, convert another room, build another garage or a purpose built pool room. Car value > pool |
Forget billiards, build yourself one of these.

I mean, i thought you wanted to keep this thing mint~ Pool tables suck. |
Ever think of taking up darts? Takes a hell of a lot less room.

For what he's looking for, it's probably his best option. Protect it from harmful sun rays, tree sap and some bird shit at the very least. |

Best option is the garage. |

If this will be a daily driver (sniff :deevee: ) then the garage is not as important. It will be getting enough road grime, etc. that sitting in a carport vs. a garage won't really matter.

If MIAdragon ever gives me the name of that good detailer he knows, I might be successful. |
If it was me I would get something cheap for the daily driver and only play with the Hellcat on nice weekends. Maybe 1000 miles a year or so seems like a nice amount. If for no other reason than with it being such a limited run it has such collector value over time.
Not that I expect to ever have to make such decisions. |

We use the shit out of that space. |
A fully enclosed, well built, & well anchored car port is actually pretty nice.
All the rednecks have a cheap version next to their single wides here. |

BTW, Meacum auctions sold a Hellcat with 9 miles on it for $115K today. |
Suggest car goes in the garage and get more creative with the pool table rather than the inverse you are considering.
|
I'm getting the Hellcat... someday. It has been sitting in Voltz at the rail yard for about a week and a half. I just need it to make the short trek to Overland Park so I can go pick it up. It is driving me nuts!

You going to keep it for a weekend car or a daily driver? |

I had a 2012 GT500 but I'm way more excited for this car. I love the fact that this is a big muscle car. I hope to have my Hellcat next week. I've already ordered low-dust brake pads, new wheels and tires (rears are 10.5" w/ 315-35/20 Nitto Invos, radar detector, laser jammer setup and a couple more things. I have some vinyl planned, and tinted windows too. Don't care if mine stays stock. Bought it to enjoy it every chance I get! How much longer do you have to wait? |

Not wanting to rain on you boys parade, especailly since I would loooove to have a Scat Pack or Hell Cat Challenger but.....
2016 Camaro is reported to have a 396CI twin turbo 800+ HP option and its 200 pounds lighter than the 2015. I may have to pounce on that as much as I hate that the Camaro is a belly button car. |
Quote:
I don't care whether a car runs the 1/4 mile 1/2 a second faster than my car. Especially if it looks like those shitty Camaros.:harumph: With the success of the Challenger, you know Chevy and Ford were going to come out with their own hefty muscle cars. I hear there is a GT800 coming out. I like the "real" muscle car trend. |
The last Camaro I liked was the 81. I've been an S197 (05-14) Mustang guy but I do not like the 15 body style. The 15 Challenger is the only car on the market that really appeals to me with exception of the new Corvettes.

Been checking out mods that I can undo to keep my new car stock if I decide to remove them. Always thought the hood pins were cool. **** it if they were not practical.
No way I'd drill into the hood. What do you guys think of the fake hood pins? Supposedly they don't damage the paint when removed later. http://www.torquenews.com/sites/defa...?itok=HxgCPTL7 |

One of the nicest paint schemes i've seen on the challenger was charcoal grey metallic with satin black racing stripes with red pinstripe...
..just beautiful. |

It's almost an accepted fact on the gear-head boards that there will only be 1000 of my cars made. They are having issues getting the parts for the 8 speed automatics for this years model. Dodge is telling people who ordered/bought one of those 1000 cars that you ordered the A8 but either you switch to a manual or we will have to fill your order in 2016. Guess-estimates by the gear-heads who are in to this, the guys who work at the factory etc. think there are only going to be 300 at the max of the 2015 A8 SCAT Pack Shakers made. I think I'd get more enjoyment of keeping one of those 300 cars that exist anywhere in the world as it was when it rolled off the line than putting mods on it that I think are cool. I can't really explain it since I've never been a gearhead and still don't know shit about cars. |

And are you getting the manual or automatic? And for whichever one, why did you decide on that type of transmission? |

In another thread we were talking about my car staying with the Hellcat in a race up to 90 mph because of the A8 against the manual. After that the 200+ more HP of the Hellcat will pull away. The most HP always wins. I'm not going to race at the track or on the street. I will be able to out run 99% of the cars on the street. Knowing that is good enough for me. I bought the car because it was cool, to me anyway. I have a daily 1.5 hour drive to work. I just didn't want to be shifting in traffic all the time. But, remember the A8 transmission has the paddles on the steering wheel. I can switch to a manual shift at any time. So if I want to play around with manually going through the gears, I can at any time. |
Quote:
Makes a lot of sense for the automatic then. Very cool concept with this new technology. With a commute like that, it would be much more fun to have the automatic anyway. Stop and go with a manual is a real bitch in a big city. I'm lucky my commute is much shorter than yours and over half freeway, otherwise I would loathe the manual. Can't wait to see this thing when you get it! Is the garage hangout still a go and setup or will this thing see the garage for a while? :D |

Anyone else watching Barrett-Jackson this weekend? Just love looking at all the machinery!

I'm looking for a car under ten grand that has some sort of power, decent gas mileage and isn't horrible in snow. Ready go
|
Well I put my other car for sale on Craigslist. I've never sold anything on there much less a car. Makes me a bit nervous, especially the types I may get for a car in this low price range.
I obviously meet these people somewhere public if they are interested. Give them no info on where I live. If I let them drive it, do I take their keys while they do? Do I go with them? What's the safest way to meet these people who might be interested without getting raped? I'd rather sell at dealer to skip all the above bullshit but they would give me so much less that it's not worth it. |

Normally I am all for you making a vehicle yours by doing whatever but with the car you have being such a limited run I would do everything I could to keep it stock and the miles low and preserve it the best I could so in X amount of years it would be worth big bucks But at the same time I say if you are the one paying for the car screw everyone else and do whatever you want to it..it's basically comes down to what you plan on doing with the car in the future |

I've sold many cars on craigslist, never a bad experience after weeding through the bullshit people. Pick up instruction. drive to x town Bring x dollars Dive car home |

Drive car home Done deal That will weed out most of the idiots and scammers. My wife came up with that one |
She actually sells most of them I just finish.

But yea, the 4-5k I might get out of this hopefully doesn't send me through too much bullshit. I keep reading that accepting cashier's/money orders is a no-no. So it's either cash or a direct account withdraw at their bank into a money order for you on the spot. Anything else I should know about payment? |
Cash only for me. On a 4 to 5k car it's cash only for sure. Over ten is a no go for most people
