Sorry but use your garage.
Even a high quality, fitted cover is going to flap in the wind and rub whatever dust/dirt might be on your car scratching the finish.

A car cover is out for sure.

Forget the pool table, use the garage. There is really no other good choice.

ToxSocks 04-10-2015 12:21 PM

If it's THAT big a deal to you, you could always go with a Car capsule.

http://carcapsule.com/

We have one here in in the shop that we never used. It's been sitting new in the box for years, im sure i can get it to you for a good price.

Thanks man but that looks like a lot of hassle to set up and take down for a daily driver.

I want my billiard room. I can build a carport if there is no other choice.

Use the garage for the car and buy an outdoor pool table?

Carport is not a good choice either.

Throw the other car out, convert another room, build another garage or a purpose built pool room.

Car value > pool

Radar Chief 04-10-2015 01:14 PM

Forget billiards, build yourself one of these.

Car value > pool

Why isn't a carport a good choice? Dig a few holes. Pour some concrete, put up poles, attach some awning...instant shelter from sprinklers and bird poop.

Yea.. rain, wind, dirt, grime, animals, especially little bits of sand blowing across the car.. Doesnt protect from any of those things.

I mean, i thought you wanted to keep this thing mint~

Pool tables suck.

Radar Chief 04-10-2015 01:52 PM

Yes, as of right now, besides tinting, color correction and putting cquartz on the car I'm keeping it as it rolled off the production line.

Pool tables suck.

It's near impossible to keep a daily driver mint.

For what he's looking for, it's probably his best option.

Protect it from harmful sun rays, tree sap and some bird shit at the very least.

Best option is the garage.

Yeah, I've got a 1.5 hour round trip daily drive. I'll be racking up the miles. I still want to keep the car as close as I can to the day it rolled off production. I've read articles from people that are well respected and considered knowledgeable by others that say there will only be 1000 of these cars built.

Hydrae 04-10-2015 05:23 PM

If this will be a daily driver (sniff :deevee: ) then the garage is not as important. It will be getting enough road grime, etc. that sitting in a carport vs. a garage won't really matter.

I'm going to respect the car, try to keep her clean but its also meant to be enjoyed.:harumph:

If MIAdragon ever gives me the name of that good detailer he knows, I might be successful.

Hydrae 04-10-2015 05:36 PM

If it was me I would get something cheap for the daily driver and only play with the Hellcat on nice weekends. Maybe 1000 miles a year or so seems like a nice amount. If for no other reason than with it being such a limited run it has such collector value over time.

Not that I expect to ever have to make such decisions.

Lol I have one in my garage, but it's not like I don't have enough garage, I own buildings lol, at my house and it's one of the best things I did. We will play cards and pool out there tonight with about 25-30 people hanging out.

We use the shit out of that space.

A fully enclosed, well built, & well anchored car port is actually pretty nice.

All the rednecks have a cheap version next to their single wides here.

I just don't trust them with the nasty storms we have down here. I just don't understand the resistance to use the garage for what it was made for.

I'm not getting the Hellcat. I'm getting the 392 6.4L 485HP SCAT Pack Shaker.

BTW, Meacum auctions sold a Hellcat with 9 miles on it for $115K today.

Miles 04-10-2015 10:15 PM

Suggest car goes in the garage and get more creative with the pool table rather than the inverse you are considering.

IA_Chiefs_fan 04-11-2015 07:18 AM

I'm getting the Hellcat... someday. It has been sitting in Voltz at the rail yard for about a week and a half. I just need it to make the short trek to Overland Park so I can go pick it up. It is driving me nuts!

You going to keep it for a weekend car or a daily driver?

This is the first car I've ever ordered as well. It is also the first car I've ever paid MSRP for but I think it will be worth it! I'm going to drive it every chance I get. I live less than one mile from work so I'll take it on trips whenever I can. It will be in the garage during the winter and I'll be forced to drive my Raptor, LOL. Yeah, I'm spoiled but I've worked hard for it.

I had a 2012 GT500 but I'm way more excited for this car. I love the fact that this is a big muscle car.

I hope to have my Hellcat next week. I've already ordered low-dust brake pads, new wheels and tires (rears are 10.5" w/ 315-35/20 Nitto Invos, radar detector, laser jammer setup and a couple more things. I have some vinyl planned, and tinted windows too. Don't care if mine stays stock. Bought it to enjoy it every chance I get!

How much longer do you have to wait?

I get that. It's yours, make it your own. I'm not interested in resell value. I ordered everything that I wanted on the car from the factory. Not interested in making it faster. It's already fast enough to get me killed if I get lead foot too long or at the wrong time. I like the idea of owning one of only 1000 in existence. Makes the wait at least tolerable.

Our cars are not some empty shell BS retro remake of the muscle car. They are real live modern day muscle cars. But, with all the modern day tech.

Not wanting to rain on you boys parade, especailly since I would loooove to have a Scat Pack or Hell Cat Challenger but.....

2016 Camaro is reported to have a 396CI twin turbo 800+ HP option and its 200 pounds lighter than the 2015.

I may have to pounce on that as much as I hate that the Camaro is a belly button car.

I ****ing hate the remade Camero's. They could put 1000HP in them and sell em for $20K and you wouldn't catch me in one of those shit piles.

I don't care whether a car runs the 1/4 mile 1/2 a second faster than my car. Especially if it looks like those shitty Camaros.:harumph:

With the success of the Challenger, you know Chevy and Ford were going to come out with their own hefty muscle cars. I hear there is a GT800 coming out. I like the "real" muscle car trend.

IA_Chiefs_fan 04-11-2015 08:10 PM

The last Camaro I liked was the 81. I've been an S197 (05-14) Mustang guy but I do not like the 15 body style. The 15 Challenger is the only car on the market that really appeals to me with exception of the new Corvettes.

I love the look of the new Corvette..it's the best looking one in a long time to me..but as far as the new muscle cars go I agree the Challenger is the best looking..I love the old muscle cars so none of the look as good..the ultimate car for me is the 70 Chevelle

I had always thought I'd get a Shelby GT when my 2005 Mustang reached the end of its life. But, the 2015 Mustangs redesign sucks. Ruined it for me. The Challenger is the only one of the modern muscle cars that I would even consider. Throw in the Shaker hood and bumblebee stripe from my youth.....winner chicken dinner.

MAKE that car maroon and it is almost the exact car I had last year for about six weeks. 396 375 horse and we cammed, headers, carb, ignition'd it.

Guarantee I've still driven it more than the owners. Theyhad never driven it when I picked it up at their house. The wife drives it sometimes. I hated the fourteen inch wheels

Nope. The husband is in the va nursing home and just wanted the car he bought when he got back from the war and didn't have the money then to do what he wanted. Now he does and I made it the car he wants.

His goal is to be able to drive it one day. When I got it done I dove it 70 miles there so he could see and hear it. Nite his wife is going to start driving it up once or twice a week

Been checking out mods that I can undo to keep my new car stock if I decide to remove them. Always thought the hood pins were cool. **** it if they were not practical.

No way I'd drill into the hood. What do you guys think of the fake hood pins?

Supposedly they don't damage the paint when removed later.

I like the looks but you will catch hell from a lot of people for putting "fake" hood pins on. F 'em though. They don't make the payment.

Yeah, I know. It is a little over the top. But, who puts "real" hood pins in cars these days? It's a mod that I can easily undo. Thats important to me.

It's almost an accepted fact on the gear-head boards that there will only be 1000 of my cars made. They are having issues getting the parts for the 8 speed automatics for this years model. Dodge is telling people who ordered/bought one of those 1000 cars that you ordered the A8 but either you switch to a manual or we will have to fill your order in 2016.

Guess-estimates by the gear-heads who are in to this, the guys who work at the factory etc. think there are only going to be 300 at the max of the 2015 A8 SCAT Pack Shakers made.

I think I'd get more enjoyment of keeping one of those 300 cars that exist anywhere in the world as it was when it rolled off the line than putting mods on it that I think are cool. I can't really explain it since I've never been a gearhead and still don't know shit about cars.

I can't really explain it since I've never been a gearhead and still don't know shit about cars.

gas pedal is on the right.

Biggest advice I have is, do what will make you happy. Don't worry too much about keeping it factory UNLESS that's what makes you happy. Just enjoy it! I know I plan to enjoy the hell out of mine once I'm past the 500 break-in miles.

I as well don't know shit about cars but I agree with the stock options on this since the manufacture run is so limited. On other cars you do mods for your enjoyment and to differentiate your car. This car your ordering needs no such distinction!

And are you getting the manual or automatic? And for whichever one, why did you decide on that type of transmission?

Just about anyone with an aftermarket hood, it's not fun to have a hood fly up going 80 on the street, don't ask how I know.

That's the way I'm leaning.

With the 8 speed Automatics its a lot different now. The 8A transmissions are faster than a manual. This seems to be accepted dogma among gear-heads. If you have the same driver skill level and car, the A8 will win every time.

In another thread we were talking about my car staying with the Hellcat in a race up to 90 mph because of the A8 against the manual. After that the 200+ more HP of the Hellcat will pull away. The most HP always wins.

I'm not going to race at the track or on the street. I will be able to out run 99% of the cars on the street. Knowing that is good enough for me. I bought the car because it was cool, to me anyway.

I have a daily 1.5 hour drive to work. I just didn't want to be shifting in traffic all the time. But, remember the A8 transmission has the paddles on the steering wheel. I can switch to a manual shift at any time. So if I want to play around with manually going through the gears, I can at any time.

Makes a lot of sense for the automatic then. Very cool concept with this new technology. With a commute like that, it would be much more fun to have the automatic anyway. Stop and go with a manual is a real bitch in a big city. I'm lucky my commute is much shorter than yours and over half freeway, otherwise I would loathe the manual.

Can't wait to see this thing when you get it! Is the garage hangout still a go and setup or will this thing see the garage for a while? :D

I've seen one of those down here and I agree, love that color scheme! :thumb:

Anyone else watching Barrett-Jackson this weekend? Just love looking at all the machinery!

I'm looking for a car under ten grand that has some sort of power, decent gas mileage and isn't horrible in snow. Ready go

lewdog 04-18-2015 08:38 PM

Well I put my other car for sale on Craigslist. I've never sold anything on there much less a car. Makes me a bit nervous, especially the types I may get for a car in this low price range.

I obviously meet these people somewhere public if they are interested. Give them no info on where I live. If I let them drive it, do I take their keys while they do? Do I go with them? What's the safest way to meet these people who might be interested without getting raped?

I'd rather sell at dealer to skip all the above bullshit but they would give me so much less that it's not worth it.

No way I'd drill into the hood. What do you guys think of the fake hood pins?

Supposedly they don't damage the paint when removed later.

With a car like yours I am torn on how I feel about personalizing it

Normally I am all for you making a vehicle yours by doing whatever but with the car you have being such a limited run I would do everything I could to keep it stock and the miles low and preserve it the best I could so in X amount of years it would be worth big bucks

But at the same time I say if you are the one paying for the car screw everyone else and do whatever you want to it..it's basically comes down to what you plan on doing with the car in the future

Ride with them.

I've sold many cars on craigslist, never a bad experience after weeding through the bullshit people.

Pick up instruction.
drive to x town
Bring x dollars
Dive car home

SAUTO 04-18-2015 08:58 PM

Stupid phone won't let me edit

Drive car home
Done deal

That will weed out most of the idiots and scammers. My wife came up with that one

SAUTO 04-18-2015 08:59 PM

She actually sells most of them I just finish.

She's the fluffer I'm the star lol

My knight in shinning armor! After all this time I thought you hated me?!?!

But yea, the 4-5k I might get out of this hopefully doesn't send me through too much bullshit.

I keep reading that accepting cashier's/money orders is a no-no. So it's either cash or a direct account withdraw at their bank into a money order for you on the spot. Anything else I should know about payment?

SAUTO 04-18-2015 09:11 PM

Cash only for me. On a 4 to 5k car it's cash only for sure. Over ten is a no go for most people
