They need to UNCHAIN Cassell!

this team needs a shot in the arm of Damon Huard and Eric Hicks.

UPDATED FACTS are bolded within the quotes. Note: I COULD update record against good defenses, playoff teams and winning teams, but we'll wait for Atlanta to qualify themselves as such a team.

love the last (play)gif in the op...
Albert totally dominates... |
Cassel is just horrid.

His pass to Boss was pretty. Why can't he throw like that all the time
|

Cassel is lucky Boss is 6-6. He had to reaaaaach for this throw. http://i.imgur.com/9IgKN.jpg |
He looks like a mouth-breathing Bono in those pics.

I don't think that pass was intended for Kevin Boss. I think that was for D Bowe. He and Boss ran to the same place, Bowe broke off his route. Cassel's body language screams that pass was intended for Bowe. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time, but I would love for *nudge wink* someone *nudge wink* to look at that whole play, and tell me it's not entirely possible. |
It was probably intended for the pop corn guy in the stands.

All this time I thought he was just staring down his first option. I fell for the four year long look off on the seam route to Kevin Boss. |

I have uncovered a shocking, shocking new statistic that will rock Matt Cassel lovers to their core.
The Chiefs' record with Matt Cassel when the opponent scores more than 24 points: 0-15 Matt Cassel's career record when the opponent scores more than 24 points. 2-19 Score 25+ points, and you've got a Cassel-led team licked. |
Casselsuck, 2012. It has begun.

I really hate this play.
1. Cassel sucks 2. His dependence on Dex sucks 3. Gonna wind up getting Dex killed/throwing picks before long http://i.imgur.com/WFUwi.gif |
Hey dude, can you put some of the original post in Spoiler tags?
That way we don't have to scroll down through the whole thing in order to see new posts... |

I can't stop laughing at the gif where Cassel steps DIRECTLY INFRONT of the rushing DE from the Chargers.

Bro, every QB is gonna have a couple of plays a game that dont look pretty.
That pass to Hillis was fine I dont even see why you GIFd it |

And he gets his ass beat. It's the perfect GIF for this thread, and Cassel haters everywhere. |
Matt Casshole is part of the problem, I hate Matt Casshole
|
There was one play that went somewhat unnoticed (because it was during a scoring drive) that Cassel threw the biggest duck ever. It was a total Huard type wobble launcher. I will rewatch the DVR and find out which drive it was.. ****ing hilarious.

I just went back and found it. About 5:06 in the 1st Quarter.
yes a pass to his left on an out route. The announcers comments that it may have been tipped, but I watched it in slow-mo and it doesn't appear to have been. wobble wobble. |
I'd like to see all QB's winning percentage when they are down by 2 scores.

CR, I have a request. Do you remember that deep pass Cassel made to Bowe against Indy, I am not sure if it was 11 or 10 season, I think it was 11, where the ball was about 20 yards underthrown. That is a great Casshole pass. |
This place is gonna be a ****ing MADHOUSE if Cassel plays the rest of the year like he did that Atlanta first half.

If you take away the fumble (that really wasn't all his fault, thats totally on the refs and Albert) and the Moeaki pick (which also wasn't his fault...ball placement was just just fine) he had a good game. Good zip and accuracy on his passes and he showed some poise on some of his throws.
Lets not act like the guy had a terrible game. Sorry, but that's objective. |

When you are constantly throwing it high, slightly behind, not in stride, to the wrong spot, your receivers are not going to be able to make clean catches. In 2010, I started noticing that Cassel couldn't hit guys in stride. They never caught the ball with two hands extended in front of their face mask without slowing down or stopping. Why? Because Cassel never put it there. That was the moment I lost faith in him. I never want to hear about completion percentage. Show me a QB throwing on a crossing route, and I'll tell you immediately if he's accurate or not. Cassel could throw for 70% completion, but he'll never be accurate. |
Quote:
Let's be real here, Cassel had a good game against a very talented defense. It's true. |
Quote:
That's what qualifies as a good game in your book? You've allowed your standards to be compromised by our current QB situation. |
Quote:
|
Matt is not our problem right now
|
Quote:
That doesn't mean I will ignore his improvements when I see them. He threw the majority of his passes Sunday with good zip and accuracy against a very talented defense. |
Quote:
To suggest that all of these things are "out of his control" is incorrect. No, Albert shouldn't have let the rusher run free. Cassel could have also held onto the ball. He's not completely absolved of blame. Similarly, on the Moeaki tipped ball/INT - although it appears to have been a perfectly-thrown ball, we have no idea about the velocity and other factors that might have led to Moeaki not catching the ball. By sheer virtue of the fact that Cassel THREW THE PASS, he'll never be completely free of blame. All of that being said, I'm sick and ****ing tired of these conversations. I would just like for ONE TIME to be able to say "he had a good game" and not have to add a qualifier afterwards. |
Quote:
The rest of that stat line is good enough to win with against defenses as good as Atlantas. I'll take 63% and 7.82 ALL DAY from our quarterback position. If he ends the year with those averages, Id be happy. |
Quote:
On the fumble, JA was WAYYYY offsides and the ball was chopped out within 2 seconds of the snap. Now way I am placing the blame for the results of those plays on Cassel. When he fails, Ill be right here to throw him into the fire and will be calling for Brady Quinn and Stanzi to get their chances...but that time hasnt came yet. |
