I thought he would fetch more cash than that. Maybe the league really respects our defensive coaches, and think they can't get any more out of him than we did.

That's not a lot of money for a young LB with a lot of experience and some off the charts speed. Especially considering what some of these washed RBs are getting at a similarly devalued position.

I liked Willie Gay Jr. He's not a world beater or anything but the dude could play some good football, Saints should be pleased with what they are getting.

It seemed like he was wanting to move on elsewhere from the Chiefs why would that be i wonder.

Sucks for the kid. You just know he probably called Veach to see if they would match the offer and they wouldn’t. WGJ LOVED being a Chief and playing at Arowhead more than anything. He was great to watch him pump up the crowd and bring energy.

That said, the writing was on the wall when he didn’t develop like they hoped he would as a coverage linebacker and they signed Tranquill.

I hope he has a long career with a few pro bowls in the NFC.

Dude does have some character issues but NO got him on the cheap. He's worth just as much as Tranquill.
