Chiefs love building that secondary

FWIW, PFF had him as their 3rd safety and 54th player overall.

That seems to be the general consensus. Most draft sites had him in the 45-75 range, which means a solid second-third round projection.

Good chance this ends up being a popular favorite pick from this draft.

This pick isn't getting enough attention. I knew for Veach to pull the trigger on this safety he had to have some huge upside. We simply didn't have to have a safety in that spot. (I could say the same for the TEN CB.)

The value was too good.

Gonna be fun watching him lock down Bowers the next few years.

Pinchshot 04-28-2024 03:27 PM

I like his size. Looks solid.

ThyKingdomCome15 04-28-2024 04:53 PM

I know he's listed as a safety but he's a lot more than that. He can play any position in the secondary. This was one nasty Veach selection. This is the kind of versatility that will have Spags drooling. QB's will literally not know what's coming.

The pundits are raving we got this kid in the fourth round.

took him for the jets in the cp mock. he's my favorite safety in this draft. stud. your Reid replacement next year.

I don't understand how we ended up with him so late. In a couple of years announcers will be talking about how lucky the defending champs were to get him in the 4th round.

permachief 04-29-2024 04:36 AM

Saw him referred to as the biggest steal in the draft in another article.

It doesn't surprise me. I was pretty shocked at how well his tape looked being picked that late.

O.city 04-29-2024 10:37 AM

Any chance they envision him stepping in and playing that Willie Gay in nickel and dime role?

Toad 04-29-2024 10:49 AM

So, he good?

Pitt Gorilla 04-29-2024 12:28 PM

I honestly thought Hicks might be the best safety in the draft AND he can also play some corner. Honestly, he might be the Chiefs best pick by far.

RunKC 04-29-2024 12:53 PM

43% pressure rate on blitzes LMAO
