The article today says the Cards need Hollands permission to send him to the minors.

From just a selfish perspective, Holland should want this. He thought he was going to get a big payday. As of right now, he's not even going to get an average contract next year. He needs to go down and get right for just his own benefit.

I believe he could have stayed down longer after his initial signing, but isn’t able to go down now unless it’s a rehab assignment.
