Baltimore's pass rate w Greg Roman?

#29 (51%)

Worthy develops for a year, doesn’t have to be rushed into a starting role… sounds good.

dlphg9 03-14-2024 10:23 PM

I really want Worthy. 3 years of damn good production, blazing speed, and according to the pundits he's an elite route runner (which would really please Patrick Mahomes).

ForeverIowan 03-14-2024 10:24 PM

It feels like this offense is one piece away from being 50 TDs, 5000 yards elite yet again. I can get on board with McConkey. Legette is a physical freak. With Kelce, Rice and Hollywood in the fold I just think Worthy makes so much sense. You give Mahomes 4.21 speed as your #4 target and an "afterthought" for defenses...I mean opposing defenses are literally ****ED!

My favorite of the next tier of WR's. A year of development would be excellent for him as he plays part time in year 1. Size to speed ratio is so good it doesnt make sense. Large catch radius. Tree trunks for legs, he's got "truck" in his game.

Not the smoothest athlete, sometime clunky. Raw AF as a route runner. The Chiefs can afford him a year of refinement while he runs go routes and shit for us, lol.

You still like Skyy Moore so I really don't give a **** about your opinion anyway lmao.

Just searched your post for the past week and can't find where you STATED who you would take, so just say it, so it's here, on the record. Is it Legette?

I said Sky Moore would be in camp because he's cheap. Best case scenario for him is that he's a WR 5-6, if he's not cut.

you can't find too many WR's in the NFL that put up over 900 yards in their rookie season and then drop off. They usually become great to hall of fame players.

He may have a higher upside than McConkey, but really struggles against press man and is far from a good route runner at this point. Not saying he couldn't get better, but he wouldn't be ready in Reid's offense year 1. We get mad at guys running the wrong route and not being where they are supposed to be and we would need to be patient. Again, he may have a better long term upside, but it would be great to get someone who can contribute right away with a much higher floor. McConkey is the most plug and play guy in our draft slot. I would be fine with Legette, but his higher upside would take some time to get there and it would most likely not be in 2024.

900 yards in essentially 10 games since Reid barely played rice the first 8 weeks

Legette & Franklin. I don't buy the Georgia like to spread the yards excuse either. Teams in the NFL with a legit top 10 WR don't do that, and by being drafted in the 1st we're saying McConkey is a legit top college WR. Don't buy it.

Possibly.

This WR class is deep into early round 3. I wouldn't be shocked.

That's the beauty of adding Hollywood. No pressure to do it in round 1. Just identify your guy like they did with Rice and get him.

ToxSocks 03-14-2024 10:49 PM

My hope is Worthy gets over drafted and Thomas falls to striking distance for us and the Chiefs make that move.

Worthy would be a fantastic addition for all the reasons discussed, but Thomas is a more complete receiver.

ChiliConCarnage 03-14-2024 10:52 PM

Well, that's cheap and not much risked. Not super excited about the signing but the cost is really reasonable

I think the Chiefs wanted Samuel and pivoted to Brown when Curtis signed. Curtis is a more complete receiver and Hollywood is more a vertical threat.

Both signed for about the same amount of money difference was probably Curtis got 3 years when the Chiefs probably wanted less.

I’ll take it Curtis is a better receiver and Hollywood does what the Chiefs were looking for.

I would be fine with McConkey, Legette or Franklin at #32 or if we get a mid 2 or higher for Sneed, but these guys probably aren't there at #64. If we want a solid contribution in 2024 as a WR3, McConkey is the best option, and it would be great to get reliable routes from a rookie. Much higher floor, but a lower ceiling for McConkey, we just can't afford to miss again like we did on Skyy.

Another great thing about this signing?

All but seals the deal that Marvin Harrison Jr. doesn't fall into the Chargers lap.

Of course, they still likely get Nabers, but at least there's some bust potential there, even though I think he's going to be a stud. Maybe takes a little longer to break out though.

What happens when the Cardinals return the favor and trade down to 6 with the Giants so they get their QB and the Cardinals still get Nabers or Alt?

WTF are you talking about?

Samuel is a good signing for the price.

But yeah, deluding yourself into thinking he's the better receiver is just copium.

They're upset that the Chiefs got Hollywood for pennies instead of having to shell out some real cash.

If they actually get brown for the stated $11 million price. This really is a great signing and better than signing Samuels. I thought to get brown but they would have to pay a lot more. I guess he wants a ring.

Joe Horn approves this signing. Willie Roaf has one eyebrow raised. :)

LFG!!!

The contract is worth up to $11M. Base is $7M, rest are incentives, if I’ve read correctly. So only $7M counts against the cap, meaning we could still pay Sneed on the tag if we can’t work out a long term deal.

Veach is a genius.

Hollywood definitely seems to have better hands, ball skills, and field awareness than the likes of MVS, Toney, Hardman, & Skyy Moore.

That's incredible value given the insane prices others have gone for. I know it's only a year but man I like Brown a LOT more than I liked Mooney, and for far less that's pure wizardry.

Sweet!

Rickey is no Tute from Honduras, just saying. Tute had it first. Respect.
