12 degrees and -7 degree wind chill here east of Colorado Springs. Just another lovely spring day on the front range.

Mr. Wizard 03-25-2024 08:57 AM

Rained last night, then sleeted then froze here in Garden City. Now blowing like hell. Sucks to have livestock in this weather. Just have showpigs now so they are in the barn under the heat lamps! Please stay on electricity! Most schools around us closed.

That was yesterday, unless a blizzard snow tornado hit again.

It just had to hit all of the good stores. ****.

The city is more protected, that tornado exposed them inside their bubble. I know we had sustained 80mph with gusts to 100 a few years ago.

I'm talking for hours. My entire farm looked like the great sand dunes. I have pics of my kids hanging out like they were on the beach. Had to use the drag to pull all the sand off the yard. It was insanity.

That map is old as ****, at least 10 years +

It doesn't have Menards, or any of the mall. All of that land is developed in the mid-part of that green tornado path.

Yes, we're under an elevated (or is it extended?) risk for severe weather with golf ball sized hail and larger, and of course the tornadoes, here in northeast Oklahoma. Be careful.

Edit: I guess it goes all the way to Texas, could be a rough night.

Tornadoes have to come from clouds. Western Kansas is the safest place you can be right now.

Yeah, but the forecast shows clouds forming before too long. Of course, it's a weather forecast, so there is a 50% chance it is completely wrong.

Hopefully it is only half wrong - wrong on tornados and hail but correct on the rain. You all have gotten a little dry since my last time out.

“From these immense prairies may arise one great advantage to the United States, viz: The restriction of our population to some certain limits, and thereby a continuation of the Union. Our citizens being so prone to rambling and extending themselves on the frontier will through necessity be constrained to limit their extent to the west to the borders of the Missouri and Mississippi, while they leave the prairies incapable of cultivation to the wandering and uncivilized aborigines of the country."

Not sure how much so far but well over an inch yesterday and its steady down pour level rain now 45 miles south of Arrowhead Could be dicey tonight they keep saying, hope we can skip the severe shit. 40 MPH wind yesterday was quite enough
