All true, but the Avs bullet train seems to have clear tracks ahead, no wind, and a good engine. This appears to be their year.

I don't think it's comparable at all considering LA steamrolled the #1 and #2 teams in the West that season.

Since we were chatting about it earlier in the thread, my Makar throwback jersey came in today, and here are a few pics. Overall very solid. The stitching is a little rough around the name plate, but otherwise no complaints!

It's like the Leafs were playing the part of big underdog, trying to hang around at the end... finally woke up some on offense after getting down and didn't really even start forcing their will until the PP with 7 minutes left.

I believe that guarantees the winner of the Avalanche/Knights will play the Canadian winner.

I was fans of both of them (the Leafs' situation is honestly probably worse because the expectations are/were higher than the Chiefs with Alex Smith), but at least there is Mahomes now.

The leafs went years with zero hope because the team was run poorly but they have drafted well lately and the last few years have had a really good team there is no reason they should have lost , can’t blame the goalie this time , I don’t think the coach did enough to get the match ups he wanted marner/Matthews were still getting chances but would have destroyed any other line than the danault line.

From what I saw, it was a combination of a bunch of shit (injuries mid-series to their #2 C and #2 D, bad puck luck, and general soft play/bad mistakes at the worst times). So it goes with the Leafs.

It's hard to understand for sure. The only sense I can make of it is that the NHL just doesn't think that "extracurricular activities" that go too far are a major deal. They're developing a track record of letting guys off pretty easy for that stuff.

This is the Vegas stuff that I hate.... crosscheck Landeskog in the face, in the faceoff circle, and no call. Cause some pressure on the other end to get the trip call that's more inadvertent than anything (and relative to crosschecking someone in the face).

I mean, they have to call that, of course... but, it's annoying given all the shit the Knights get away with.
