This year they traded a top 3 WR for a brokedick RB with an albatross of a contract.

Everyone is correct to clown them.

I don't think I've ever seen a team have an off season this aggressively terrible. Is Bill O'Brien already one of the worst NFL GMs of all time? Like maybe top 10?

As of right now, has any team made a move that makes you concerned about our ability to win the AFC this year?

Is there a team in the NFC who looks like a legit contender moreso than last year?

Not worried about the AFC, until I see what we do. We were really far ahead of the rest of the AFC last year. Just having some better luck with injuries will more than negate the losses we suffer in FA.

Cardinals probably took the biggest step forward by getting rid of Johnson’s contract and getting a stud WR. Vikings got a haul for Diggs, but overpaid Cousins again.

Setsuna 03-17-2020 09:40 AM

Watson needs to get far away from Houston. That team is done. Also why are the mods letting people start threads about FA moves separate from this thread?

Baltimore is making all the right moves so far. Mahomes>>>>>LJ by far, but the rest of that team is getting better. We'll see if it's enough.

And SF looks poised to remain competitive in the NFC

Not really sold on the Baltimore defense. I think they’ll be worse next year.

Campbell is going to be 34 and Thomas is going to be 31. Judon will likely be gone too.

I doubt they’ll be anywhere near slowing down Mahomes. They weren’t last year either.

So an agent on 610 today basically called the Chiefs ****ed saying they can't have Chris Jones cap number at 16 and they are getting no offers for him at the moment. So unless they are willing to take some crappy trade because everyone knows they can't keep him with the money he wants.

I only buy into that so much but it'd suck to lose him for nothing.

This is more like being released from prison. He's free now. Being a Jag is like being in minimum security prison. His butt hole is saved.

they can't keep him AND Watkins I don't think, no.

But between the two, you'd keep Jones and roll.

I don't think they're forced to do anything, but I DO think both will be gone, and I expect a nice haul for Jones.

The Clowney and Frank Clark trades happened when?

Not at the start of F/A. I wouldn't worry about it.

Clark to KC happened on Apr. 23rd 2019. So your point is a very good one.

"agent-take". They are all on the same page on what they want...so of course he's going to frame it like the Chiefs are boxed in. They are not.

Kennard is a good player. Fits Spags system. Chiefs need help at LB.

Lions have reportedly shown some interest in Jones possibly.

Anyone interested in taking Detroit's 2nd round pick (#3 in round) + a swap of 4th's and Kennard for Jones and KC's 4th rounder?

no. if you don’t get a 1st for Jones you don’t trade him.

That seems like a pretty bad trade for a guy in the last year of his contract that will be 29 years old in a couple months that the Lions were fixing to release.

Fair enough.

He would fill a need, though. Obviously, the Chiefs would have to work an extension with him at some point.

And you’d get almost the equivalent of a late 1st and 3rd with Detroit’s 2 & 4.

I just honestly don’t think the Chiefs are gonna get a deal done with Jones (numbers wise), so wondering if they should just take the best deal they can get at this point?

If the Lions release him, you can sign him without giving anything up. Additionally, because it was a release, he doesn't count against your free agent +/- and therefore won't cost you when it comes to comp picks.

Can I just take a second to say that considering how mad some of you were that the Chiefs lost Chris Ballard and promoted Veach that Ballard has NOT been that great at building anything in Indy.

His first draft was pretty damn good, and in fairness to him, I don’t think anyone saw Andrew Luck pulling a Barry Sanders. That significantly set them back.

I think he’s done all right, but after 3-4 years we’ll have a better overall idea.

Eh. It's not his fault that Luck abruptly retired.

I admit to being on this ship for a few weeks. I remember it vividly because it's the first time I've ever been wrong about anything. :p

Shockingly, later in the same season I was wrong (and you were right) about LeSean McCoy not being active for the Super Bowl. When it rains, it pours.

Rivers finalizing a deal with the Colts.

They’ll be an interesting team to watch next year, to say the least.

Dude thinks he's Bill Belichick or something stupid.

Spend your money. Your franchise QB was locked up. You had cap space. SPEND IT.
