This is the youngbloods dug out this evening might be the first album I ever bought after graduated from 45's. Jesse Colin Young was such a great vocalist and underrated bass player. Guitarist Jerry Corbitt was unique nothing like him of that period. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eoxw380ySCc" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/EAB3fyCIHpc" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gIlqBDhHtEI" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Spun up Jesse Colin Young-Light Shine album. Forgot this was a pretty good album very well done.
ABB made a hit out of the title track but as much as I loved the ABB Jesse's original is best. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0DtWmflC0fU" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/b-v6OtQY3Nc" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

I know they have a song called "Soulshine", which was written by Warren Haynes. |

It was written by Warren Haynes in the 90s, appeared on an Allman Bros album, then Govt Mule did it, naturally, it was on a Mule album in the late 90s...the Gregg Allman Band never performed that song as far as I know. |
Quote:
JCY wrote Light Shine for his 1974 album by the same name. Really thought they were the same song just changed up Light Shine for Soulshine. I could have sworn Greg Allman sang it as Light shine on an album but also cannot find. I must say Warren Haynes skirted the edges of plagiarizing. |

Love that band. More than I ever did with Led Zeppelin. |

I'm at the age where I don't care about admitting what I like. Pearl Jam is my band. You can call me a pussy and all that, but I just dig about everything they do. Their new album this year was very enjoyable to me. Here's my favorite songs from the album. The first song I linked easily makes one of their top songs for me that they've ever done. Not bad for some old dudes.

In college I was pretty big into Taking Back Sunday. It worked for me in those days.
Anyway, randomly, a TBS song popped up on my playlist, so I went down a fairly deep rabbit hole. As it turns out, Fred Mascherino was in the band for 2 of the albums (where you want to be and louder now), so I caught some of his stuff on YouTube. He's now on YouTube under the Color Fred (which his solo ... whatever it is). So I caught some of that. It's a pretty decent channel if you're into it. He has some really good guitar stuff in there if you're into it (I'm not, I'm the least musical, least creative person on CP, but it was interesting to watch from a purely technical perspective as an outsider). Anyway, in his videos, he's really open about music, TBS, his process whatever, and is just a really positive humble guy. Big thing is, that it's pretty real. So much of social media stuff is polished, overproduced narrative type stuff, but he's not the best, smoothest broadcaster, but it works because he's not full of shit. I'd recommend checking it out if you're interested. Plus the dude is a really good guitarist, so there's that too. Anyway. During the pandemic, He started writing a song and put it out on Social Media asking for complimentary parts. So artists from around the world submitted contributions to him and he produced it. It's probably not the best song out there, but it's a really cool little project amid the pandemic. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/YrUc88zUqmM" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Rolling on with Stones day, pt. 2 : Emotional Rescue, original pressing, RL cut at Sterling Sound. Possibly THE most underrated Stones album of all, lost between the 2 bona-fide classics released just before and after, but this one is also truly great... "Don't you know promises were never meant to keep? Just like the night, they dissolve off in sleep... I'll be your savior, steadfast and true - I'll come to your emotional rescue..." |
