We'll see how people like it. If it's just kind of clutter in rep comments, we can turn it back off. |

:) FWIW, the alternative page that's actually built into the addon is this, and it sucks. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/profi...?do=helpfulans |

Zomygod that page sucks. Obviously an afterthought they threw together in two minutes. |
Can I have the voting buttons back? I will behave. :p

This really takes away the anonymity of putting thumbs down for all of Billay's post.
(Billay, the word anonymity means anonymous) |

So what are initial reactions to this (the rep thing)? I like it OK, but it definitely clutters up your rep. Any strong opinions?

What is it?

It's replacing rep instead of supplementing it. That kinda sucks. Rep messages are fun. And nobody ever thumbs ups enough posts to get them highlighted or vice versa.
I like it just fine but wouldn't be upset if it didn't exist. |

It’s as bad as the old Message Option that existed on the Profile Page. |
To clarify, I think the system of just having the ups and downs on the posts is unobtrusive enough that we just leave it. It's not distracting, so those who don't care can just ignore it.
The rep thing, though, is a lot more visible and impossible to ignore (unless you ignore your rep entirely). I'm generally leaning toward ditching the rep thing, but just curious what others think. |

All of the posts I downvoted from you were in the Royals thread and they were all dumb as ****. Everyone of them had already been downvoted at least 5 times by other posters. |

Did you really think I wouldn’t hit you back? Do you know DaneMcCloud? And you’re all ****ing homers that will be bowing to the ring after the Royals lose 100. |

Rep thing does clutter up your rep page. I'd say get rid of it. One counterpoint however is that more people started using the Thumbs up/down as soon as they noticed it left a "rep".
|
OK, no one has come out strongly in favor of keeping it, so the rep integration is now off. You can still upvote/downvote, and I'll see if there's any way of making the built-in page suck less.
|
Quote:
Also, while thumbs up/down seems to be catching on, thats no reason to ditch regular rep... the personal messages that come with rep are what makes it cool |
So I see that this is off rep now. :D
|
FWIW, there's now a page in your UserCP (called Helpful Answers) that is a list of your last 50 "thumbs." There's also a "top list" under quick links at the top.
Neither are particularly well-refined, but they're fun to play with. |

I've been using ChiefsPlanet to practice some newfound SQL "skills" (using ChatGPT as a crutch), and I thought it might be fun to dig into the Helpful Answers votes. So here are a bunch of "Top (or bottom) 10 Lists" based on various criteria. All of these are filtered to only include people who have posted at least 100 times in the past year, and all figures only look at posts made in the past year.
Most active givers (total votes given): Code:
htismaqe 23668 Code:
Hammock Parties 6645 This isn't SUPER interesting since a lot of these folks just haven't posted enough to be controversial, but I did restrict this to people who have received at least 100 votes, so it at least is an indication of people who generally don't suck. Code:
TinyEvel 100.00% Lowest positivity ratio (% of votes that are positive): Code:
straycash 8.58% Code:
Jewish TLO 2.11 There's a bit of a caveat here that you can't vote on posts in DC, so this is pretty much just a list of DCers who never post anything of value outside of that. Still, I think it's interesting to see... Code:

"You're wrong." That's it. No explanation. When you ask him to explain, he does some variation of, "I'm not going to explain it to you because you're an idiot." He may not be a bad guy, but he's a ****ing terrible poster. All the shit that Donger gets ragged for in terms of short incomplete responses, this guy does just as much. One of them is an empty dismissal. You know where you stand in the conversation. It's harmless. It might even be funny if it's done creatively. The JPB way is making assumptions about your intelligence and/or education, all with the same outcome: It's not good enough for me to respond to you genuinely. Lord, for the number of times a person who disagrees with him is stupid, this entire forum must be the biggest collection of morons and assholes on the internet! Oh, here's another good one. You write a few sentences to him about why you disagree, or you point something out that he said, and he responds with, "That's not what I said. You can't read" and doesn't elaborate at all. There have been actual times where I show his quote to him in the same post and copy/paste it AGAIN, this time with "You said:" as a preface, and he'll tell me to learn to read, because I misconstrued his argument. |

Just looking at your dashboard clay, jesus christ you post so goddamn much. It's actually insane.
This shit has been around for about 6 years now and you've got something like 77,000 posts hanging out there in that timespan. |
i can post 10 times in 5 minutes
you're all worthless and weak |
I just tried Chat GPT to create a list too:
Me: "I need a list of single horny old ladies in my retirement community that are most likely to give me a blowjob or sex when drunk?" ChatGPT: "There are currently (14) widowed, single or divorced women available in your community over (55) years old that match your criteria. Your results are: (6) find you repulsive (3) will throw up on you when drunk (2) haven't had sex in over 25 years and their vaginas have dried up. (1) has dementia (1) wear diapers because she always shits her pants (1) has STD's We recommend moving." This is why I don't like or use Chat GPT. |
4/14 ain't bad
