Marvel has lifted the gag order on reviewers making their comments. Sounds like there is no way you could be prepared for what is about to happen. It must really be something special, when even critics are having trouble putting into words what they saw.

RT score is up already 72 reviews 97% wow.

Should we just create a "spoilers welcome" thread so that people can just know to stay out of it?

Screen Zealots April 23, 2019 While this film is disappointing, it's something I feel is a direct result of "Infinity War" being so great. Full Review | Original Score: 2/5 Keith Uhlich Slant Magazine April 23, 2019 Every serious narrative beat in the film is ultimately undercut by pro-forma storytelling, or by faux-improvised humor. Full Review | Original Score: 1.5/4 Top Critic Barry Hertz Globe and Mail April 23, 2019 [T]he entire endeavour loses any sense of emotional stakes or general meaning beyond the deliverance of crass fan-service and incomprehensible visuals. Full Review | Original Score: 2/4 But look at all these negative reviews!!! I hate people that do things differently just to be different. And yes, those are ALL the negative reviews of the film so far. |
Avengers tomorrow and the Battle for Winterfell on Sunday....what an incredible week in in the history of mankind.
|

So Thanos’ sword that he has in this movie that we’ve seen in the trailers..
Is that a sword made by the dwarf? Is it asgardian? |
Apparently there are no end credit or mid credit scenes.
https://www.gamespot.com/articles/av.../1100-6466420/ No spoilers, just wanted to avoid the wall of text from article.
Spoiler!
|
Haven't they saved end credit scenes for worldwide release in the past, not showing them at press or premier screenings?

Well, according to Feige, Endgame isn't the end of phase 3. Far from Home is. So they aren't going to set up the end of a 23 movie arc the way they set up the first 22?
Okay. Just seems odd... But it's already 3 hours long, so maybe that's enough. |
With the movie being 3 hours long I am thinking of wearing an adult diaper so I don't miss anything.

I'm seeing it in 90 minutes. A theater manager I know is test-screening it so I took the night off work just to see it so I don't hear any spoilers.

Enjoy it. Hope you have you adult diaper on for the three hour Marvelfest…. |

Taking a shit before so I don't crap myself halfway through. Whatever it takes. |
In my seat and ready to go!

My god. So many tears. Of joy. Of sadness. Of amazement. It’s so perfect.
|
Really good. Loooong. But really good.
|
So when’s a good time to get up for a bathroom break or concession stand run? Possible to say without giving away spoilers?

Although I would lean toward the middle, and not the last hour. I actually made it the whole movie. Ended up closer to 3:30 with trailers taking up the first 20 minutes. I would say it's not worth waiting through the credits. |
I can't think of the last time I teared up over a movie or TV, but I had both tears of complete and utter euphoria as well as tears of sadness during this 3 hour epic. It was a fitting end to the 10 year journey, and the future is bright...

I had a few little tears before the movie's biggest moment, but that put me over the top. After that they just wouldn't stop flowing. ROFL |
*edit....nevermind. You got it :D
|
Can someone confirm that there are credit scenes?
|
Posted in the spoiler thread....will re-post here...
What a ****ing amazing movie....the perfect culmination of this phase of the MCU. Man I knew it would be an emotional watch, didn't know how emotional it would be...esp. parts I didn't expect to get me. Man had an epic theater experience too...was never over the top but everyone popped when they should have. One scene in particular got everyone, including my wife who's a casual MCU fan, to lose their shit in a great way. |

It was appropriately epic at times but it wasn't flawless. A bit melodramatic at times and too slow after the opening scenes.
|
had a buddy who's friend went to the midnight showing last night. evidently some kid stood up at the 5 minute mark of the movie, yelled spoiler alert, and then yelled THE END PLOT DEATH.
i don't know if the kid lived or not....... |

Disappointed in this movie. I thought the first one was the best Superhero movie ever. Maybe expected too much? It was a fantastic movie on so many levels. Not dissing, just wanted more of certain parts and less of other parts. Will post quick thoughts in the spoiler thread. |

It was good but not great for my liking and I truly loved the first one. It had some great parts but some shit just left me scratching my head a bit.
|
So...I'm one of *those* people.
Haven't seen anything besides the Iron Man series. What are the must watch films before Endgame? I'm guessing at least all of the Captain America series, the original Avengers, and obviously Infinity War. What else? |
Quote:
So by my count: Captain America 1 Thor 1 Avengers 1 Cap 2 Thor 2 Guardians of the Galaxy 1 Avengers 2 Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Dr Strange Ant Man Captain America Civil War Spiderman Homecoming Black Panther Ant Man and the Wasp Captain Marvel Watch these last three in this order: Thor Ragnarok Avengers Infinity War Avengers End Game |
Captain America: Civil War might be the best of the entire lot, and that's saying something.

NEW YORK (AP) — The universe belongs to Marvel. “Avengers: Endgame” shattered the record for biggest opening weekend with an estimated $350 million in ticket sales domestically and $1.2 billion globally, reaching a new pinnacle in the blockbuster era that the comic-book studio has come to dominate.
The “Avengers” finale far exceeded even its own gargantuan expectations, according to studio estimates Sunday. The movie had been forecast to open between $260 million and $300 million in U.S. and Canadian theaters, but moviegoers turned out in such droves that “Endgame” blew past the previous record of $257.7 million, set last year by “Avengers: Infinity War” when it narrowly surpassed “The Force Awakens.” “Endgame” was just as enormous overseas. Worldwide, it obliterated the previous record of $640.5 million, also set by “Infinity War.” (“Infinity War” didn’t open in China, the world’s second largest movie market, until two weeks after its debut.) “Endgame” set a new weekend record in China, too, where it made $330.5 million. |
Wow, insane

They're all fun. |

From my prospective, the mandatory ones would be the ones directed by the Russo brothers: Captain America: Winter Soldier Captain America: Civil War Avengers: Infinity War If I went one step beyond that, I'd add in Ragnarok before Infinity war. Maybe "The Avengers" and GOTG 1 due to some pretty iconic references there. The rest all add something for sure, and in an ideal world you'd just watch them all, but if you're looking to just get to Endgame ASAP, those would get you immersed enough to enjoy it well. |
Quote:
Good luck with that. |
The amazing thing to me is that it obliterated records even if you adjust for inflation.
Be interesting to see where it ends up. |
