I don't really care what's going on in this discussion right now. I'd just like to point out that Chiefspride was a much more fun person to make fun of than Goatcheese, according to me.

Nah, bonorules at least has a decent sense of humor. The Prides were always too damn uptight.

I think Green plays more a part in the offense than some think. I know that he suffered greatly when Holmes was out, and I will grant that Holmes drives our offense...HOWEVER, I think that if Green had succumed to his injuries last year, we would not have developed the congruity on offense that we did in 2001 and 2002. Resigning Green, IMO, was one of the most important moves of the offseason, and I think that we will be glad that we did it before the season is out.

Actually, Green did very well in one of the games when Holmes was out. He threw for three touchdowns and over 300 yards on a day when we had no running game, and we beat the Chargers.

The Raiders game was over before it began, because of the rain.

There's an old thread from Christian Okoye... promoting an appearance he was making... (It's like 2 yrs old) Lattimer bring it up every few weeks... and people (even regulars) jump all over it to say hi to Christian. Kind of a running gag....

The Raiders game sticks out in my memory more than the Chargers game...maybe because it hurt so much. Had we had a running game that day, though, we would have had a shot at beating them.

I was at that game. 2 passes stick out in my mind as poorly thrown. Green's INT was pathetic. Really, no excuse for it. Bad ball. The other, believe it or not was the long TD to Bo. Bo bailed Green out on that play by adjusting to the ball while it was in the air. Overall, though - can't complain about a "W". It was just a little closer than it needed to be.

No excuses for the Raiders game. The Chiefs were horrible. If you can't play in the rain, join the freaking arena league. Rain should NEVER be an excuse. Not after all the big games we've won by executing well in downpours.

You're going to say he had a bad day for making TWO mistakes in a game?

Rausch 05-14-2003 12:05 AM

Bah....after the Denver game either his foot was really bothering him or he can't handle pressure. He had no reason to admit to the injury so I have no reason not to believe him, and assume that was why.

But he was horribly inaccurate that game, and instead of Green it makes me question the staff. If he was hurt that bad they should have sat him, both for our playoff chances (sure, they were slim to none) and more importantly for his future.....What if he would have seriously fugged it up?

However, that kind of toughness hasn't been seen since Deberg, and I admire that. I'll bag his brain but not his heart.

Actually, I don't like to make judgements on good/bad performances when we win. The end result is where my generally interest lies. That "W" is the only stat that matters to the Chief fan in me. That raises an interesting question, though. Where does one draw the line regarding mistakes? I mean, 4 mistakes really isn't a whole lot when you throw the ball 50 times in a game. But when they're all intercepted by the same damn player, that tends to break your back. I dunno the answer to that and I suspect that my consistency in making that judgment may be lacking.

Otter 05-15-2003 07:02 PM

Green is a dud recruited for far too much compensation by a bunch of guys who had the game pass them by a couple years ago.

You give Kitna an O line like he had and Priest Holmes when he was on fire and he'll put up the same stats. Unless he's a totally different QB from the one I've seen in Washington, he's not taking this team anywhere.

If he ever gets to the big game he's gonna choke like a chiwawa on a chicken bone.

You are very stupid. I know I've told you that before, but it bears repeating.

RealSNR 10-12-2003 03:21 PM

Green had a nice game. Recievers dropped a lot of balls. I blame him for 6 bad passes. 3 of them were almost INTS, and there were abotu 3 more severely overthrown/underthrown balls.

But he didn't screw up and that's all I ask of him. That equals a good game in my book.

You gotta love a QB who will throw a block...

The replay was wonderful to watch.

Holmes reversed his field and Green immediately ran that way to help. That alone would have won him a place in my heart, but then he threw a key block for his RB. I absolutely love his ‘tude out there.

There are other QBs with better arms, but I am very happy to have Green under center.

xoxo~
Gaz
Watching the list of “who is a better QB than Green” get shorter and shorter.

Hey loud mouth, I am sure that Green will be the first to say, that the Offensive line had an awesome night. Buth running and pass protection, Green had nice comfortable throwing lanes, and time to throw, that didn't happen by accident.

Your one of those guys who only looks at the ball when it is snapped, and say oh gee there was a hole for holmes to run through.

Try it, just once, watch the offensive line get off the ball when snapped, don't follow the ball, they will show a replay. Just watch Rolf smash some heads, or the guard pulling into the hole so Holmes jogs into the end zone untouched without kicking in the after burners.

It is not all Green. It is not all O line, It is not all Hall, Or Homes. Let other teams think that, then we beat them, cause they think that all they have to do is stop one or the other.
