Both my wife's granny's on her mother's side lived over 100. Her ****ing mother is batshit crazy so I'm sure she's a lock ta' hit it as well.

I officially retired after 31 years in 2006.

Post retirement was helped along by being rehired in a reseash position and I conducted field trials for 9 years and established a small business as well.

Financially we were ok, we had debt in line and my 401/IRA was solid and I had a great financial guy guiding that process

Key for us was to watch expences and plan our spending in line with income.

Do what you like and have fun. You earned it.

Congrats on your your retirement...financially we are OK and my wife is a nudge when it comes to keeping under our budget.

We will live in a manner that allows us to be comfortable but not extravagant. We are debt free....so that helps and luckily both of us worked thru the pandemic so no loss of income.

Now with my free time I can catch up on my number of posts with all the other people who have no lives on here.

I love retiring here in Florida...was what we planned to do anyway. But the nice part was the company paid to move me here 7 1/2 years ago.

So much to do...explore....and a lot of beaches to sit and relax.

Yeah, if you don't mind the humidity, the benefit of no winter and all the sun can't be understated.... same here in Arizona.

I was in NH for a while last fall and there were so many cloudy days and it rained a **** ton... not the end of the world by any means, but being back in the Arizona sun/weather was glorious.

I lived thru enough winters that I will never miss cold weather, shoveling snow or dealing with ice. Plus I can play golf year round mostly in shorts and a golf shirt.

Well Spokane thankfully not a coast town. Just mountains and fresh air plus near Canada too eh!

Just do not sit in your garage and drink beer. Some here might be watching you. :)

See...that is something you get used to when you are older. You go to bed earlier....wake up to pee at 2 am...then wake up at 5 AM consistently.

I know most of the Planeteers near me....most wouldn't drive out to where I live because they would have to cross the Buckman Bridge....or as we call it...the Florida NASCAR Training ground.
