There is a reason Tampa Bay and Kansas City are the top two scoring teams so far (two best offenses) and also the two worst defence in terms of yards and points allowed.

Scoring a lot offensively has the effect of making the other team one-dimensional, which is passing the ball a lot and agressively, which leads to more points for that opposing team.

I still think the Chiefs are fielding an average D but if they keep scoring close to 40 points, the defense will allow points too, especially against top QBs and top offences.

It's not just that they've scored a lot, but that they've jumped out to big leads immediately. So you had two really good passing offenses in catch-up mode for nearly the entire game.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a "good" defense, but I think the people saying it's historically bad are way off.

They seem to be far better at stopping the run. The secondary needs work but isn't as brutal as it has seemed. Berry will help.

Well, final practice of the week with no Berry. I'm guessing week 5 is the earliest possible return.

I wonder if they aren't going to be sending him for an MRI soon? Has anything been mentioned about that locally?

It is his achilles. MRI won't say much more than they already know.

There is little blood flow to the achilles so it does not heal on its own very quickly if at all. I would assume they have tried PRP and sonic therapy to try and get it to heal on its own.

Unfortunately it most likely is an injury he is just going to have to realize he has to fight through and just have it repaired either preemptively or when it tears/ruptures.

Agree with beach tribe. The Sutton lovers are the same ones that defended Smiff until the end. I love to hear dominant defense tagged with Sutton who has choked away 2 of the biggest leads in playoff history.....

ROFL

I was one of the MOST vocal critics of Smith on this board, to the point of leaving for 3 years to avoid discussing it anymore with the SF fans that invaded this place.

Nobody is defending Sutton anyway. The team lacks talent. No defensive coordinator is going to make this unit good.

BS. Reid doesnt call the defense

Sounds like people who were saying that Reid tells Alex Smith to check down

Reid ABSOLUTELY determines the overall gameplan.

He doesn't call the plays but you can bet your sweet behind he DOES tell Bob "hey, dial it back here a bit".

I cant believe you can watch these games and support the defensive scheme, play calling or adjustments.

I firmly believe that Sutton makes thia average squad worse.

When we were getting tons of turnovers Sutton does a decent job. If his teams cant rely on that, he cant adjust his scheme to get the best out of what he has.

Sounds like Smith again who is pretty good with an all world cast

This isn't an average squad. At all.

Well, plus KC's offense has jumped ALL OVER teams early.

Defense, too, honestly. Forcing early 3 and outs and allowing KC to build that big lead with their explosive offense. Boy they're mushy with a 14 point lead though.

It isn't normal for achilles tendonitis to persist for more than 6 weeks, so one would think they'd do the MR to rule it out.

I haven't been tracking this on a daily basis like some have, if it's been 6 weeks now and he's not even able to run in practice that's starting to be suspicious of something else, is it not?

For someone who's already had injuries to the other achilles, you wonder if things like running form that can cause chronic pain over time are affecting both feet.

With no improvement, even given rest and proper care?

Nobody said there hasn't been improvement.

The name of this thread is "Berry is improving".

I've had Achilles tendinitis for longer than 6 weeks.

I mean that we keep hearing that from the team, but he still isn't even practicing. How can we not be reminded of Houston's situation with his knee where he was held out for most of the season and then came back clearly not the same, and ended up needing surgery anyway.
