You have more connections there than I do, but I don't think it was an issue of not being worried about getting him back - but that they knew they were going to be outbid.

And in all fairness, he may not have WANTED to stay in LA.

They tried to, didn't they? If Joyner signed long term he would've been tagged I'm assuming.

Watkins went to college at Clemson and grew up a Bills fan it is possible he didn't want to be in LA.

If the Chiefs bring back Knile Davis, and then him and Sammy Watkins have a kid together, they can name it Sammy Davis Jr.

They could conceivably cover man to man without safety help on some plays. Aaron Donald crashing the middle would also make things tough. But they weren't that good against the run last year and I don't think that they have anyone that can contain Kelce. The safeties would probably play middle of the field in that scenario, helping to contain Kelce and Hunt, while Talib and Peters cover long enough to allow Donald's pressure to force an incompletion.

I think I found future quotes of Peters after our Mexico City game

“He’s fast as hell," Peters said.

I look forward to Watkins having a great season then getting a concussion 5 minutes into our playoff game.

Sad but true, lol.

Considering how that offense operates, I can understand that.

They're never going to pay a WR elite money as long as Gurley is on the roster, IMO.

It wasn't anything to do with his onfield play every Sunday...but everything to do with his attitude from Mon-Sat off-field...and people were just sick of him

Seems like he's got about 3 years per team before wearing out his welcome.

If it's this and *more* stuff we don't know about then I'm ok with it. The stuff we know about is very likely just the tip of the iceberg.

But if any part of losing one of the best corners in football at league minimum is because Clark demanded that the flag sitter go - then I'm super-pissed.

Fly him to KC on a west-bound flight.

Since he came into the NFL in 2014, Watkins is fourth in yards per reception (15.9) among players with 100 or more catches in that span. Only DeSean Jackson (17.6), Tyrell Williams (16.5) and T.Y. Hilton (16.3) are ahead of him in that category.

Among those four players, Watkins has the most touchdowns with 25 in 52 games. Hilton is second with 22 touchdowns in 63 games.

According to Pro Football Focus, Watkins has dropped only eight passes over the last three seasons. It said that Watkins didn't drop any passes on 39 catchable targets during the regular season in 2017.

Watkins had 39 receptions last season, which ranked fourth on the Rams behind running back Todd Gurley and receivers Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods. However, Watkins' eight touchdown catches were the most on the team.
