Now now if you could sign Clowney to a 1 year deal that would give us a beast as **** DL.

The tricky year for us right now is 2021. Extending Kelce ASAP would actually lower his 2021 cap hit. |
This is such a big win for the team, by the way.
The help Okafor's restructuring gives us for 2020 is solid, but it completely lops off his cap hit in 2021, when we need it the most. Okafor wasn't going to play for us in 2021 anyway, we were going to have to cut him. Now he gets to walk as a free agent, and we get a potential 2022 compensatory pick out of it if he signs a decent deal. 2021 is still going to be very tight, but at least it's more scalable now. You can cut/trade Eric Fisher and restructure a few players and get the space you need. |
Logan Ryan and an extension or two?
Fisher/Schwartz/Kelce/Mathieu all viable extension candidates. Many of whom could've fit under the cap this year with an extension but Veach may be loading up on flexibility in order to approach ALL of them and not end up having to take any offers off the table if he gets unexpected traction across the board. I dunno - could just be basic bookkeeping measures designed to create additional rollover room for next season's potential cap contraction. But I think veteran CB is still a need. |
We should extend Ward ASAFP before he plays with, ya know, eyesight this year and blows up.
He and Mecole are my picks to go off this season. |
