The loons are out in full force as expected |
God damn, those are some mighty considerate terrorists. Wait until the bridge would be at its least busy then call a warning in about a half hour before impact just to try and mitigate some more.

They must get on very early in the harbor and I did not see an escort tug, which occurs often. This harbor must have different rules and maybe it is bridge related. |
Thought this provided some nice context on the role of the harbor pilot:

They can, but does the port have the necessary open capacity? It works a lot like airports, with scheduled ins and outs. It's really hard to work things in when they already operate near capacity anyway. |

I realize that everyone wants to just throw aside the cyber attack angle but, I think it's at least worth some consideration. Here's some good discussion on this, from all angles, if anyone cares to look at it with an open mind.
IMO, you can't say one way or the other this soon. There has to be some investigation first. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uxyzX8v_lfk?si=kNzU1gu-tjzhaf2k" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

But it also leads to where we see patterns that are not there. Or just correlations and not causations. And being able to "see" these patterns when others can't make us feel important. Like we are special. It's easier for some to swallow there is a shadow conspiracy that is controlling everything than to admit that life is just chaos. |
If one person believes the conspiracy, it's mental illness. If millions of people believe the same conspiracy, it's politics.

Don't know if it has been brought up yet, but the Key Bridge was the approved crossing for hazardous materials. They aren't allowed to go through the tunnels on 95 or 895. Not sure how often that comes into play.
