But they don't really have somebody that can easily handle him.

Let harden And westbrook operate on the perimeter. Lakers will have to clog up the paint

Who cares? I am sure they will throw lots of different players at him but as long as they keep the others from going off this should be a quick series IMO.

Interesting. Hoping to copy Kerr's success?

Basically a 2 team race at this point. Winner of Clips/Lakers takes it all and the Lakers have a huge advantage there with AD.

Man - I'll argue every time against the 'the NBA sucks crowd...'

But then there's shit like this:

Spoiler!

Flop, dueling flops, flop, brick.

That's with one minute left in a deciding game 7. And EVERYONE is just trying to get to the line instead of trying to actually play basketball.

Just wow.

Yeah it was bad and I commented at the time that alot of flopping was happening. Glad the refs didn't reward them for that bs.

Chris Paul's probably the easiest guy in the league to root against (non-Lebron division).

And Harden's only a little bit behind him.

Paul is the spiritual successor to Dwyane Wade and I couldn't stand that guy. That final they won (against Dallas?) with him just mindlessly bombing into the lane and waiting for the officials to bail him out (which they did) set basketball back 5 years.

And of course, guys like that are never willing to die by the sword. They expect every whistle and then bitch like schoolgirls if they don't get it or if a foul is called against them.

I cannot stand Chris Paul. The playoffs are better without him. Fortunately he's rarely in them for very long so it works out alright.

Hardin is worse IMO. That bullshit kickout thing he does makes my brain hurt. I spent a pile of time as a kid getting my lower body right on jump shots, which includes eliminating that very thing. It’s remarkable how much that little kick ****s your shot. I get that I’m not him - he’s ****ing remarkable. But he’s plenty willing to actively **** up his shot in order to maybe catch a tony bit of contact so he can flail and fall down.

And that’s before him just pounding the **** out of the ball so he can wait until the defender lays down for a nap so he can go by him.

Hardins the better player. Paul is the better watch IMO.

They're both awful to watch. Hardin just doesn't seem to be such a crybaby bitch when he doesn't get the call (or when he's lobbying for one).

It's because it is rewarded by the refs. You probably didn't see the Marcus Smart flop (which was also rewarded until a challenge) the other day but behold:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Duuuuuude <a href="https://t.co/2mGUGtTC2L">pic.twitter.com/2mGUGtTC2L</a></p>&mdash; Leigh Ellis (@LeighEllis) <a href="https://twitter.com/LeighEllis/status/1300937886691397634?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 1, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

As I've maintained, the ability to sell the refs on calls has become an important skill in this league. Watch a Rockets game or a Celtics game and you'll see a lot of the offense is designed to try to get to the line even on jump shots.

Adopting the Eurotrash/Soccerization style of ball is the worst thing to happen to the NBA.

And seriously - these games look like McDonalds All-American high school all-star games.

Shit, they look stranger than that.

All the crap on their jerseys that make them look out of balance and nothing like an NBA jersey, the empty stands.

I could be watching euro-league games and it wouldn't be much different.

The weird schedule/start times have something to do with ratings being down but man, the cognitive dissonance watching these games is just remarkable. It does not 'look' like an NBA game and that absolutely impacts the viewing experience.

This season just cannot end quickly enough.

Yea, I don't blame the players for playing to win and taking full advantage of what the refs will give them.

I blame the league.

If it was up to me, they would review fouls during the next commercial break. If it was a clear flop, reverse the call during the timeout. If it was particularly egregious, like pretending to be hit in the face with no contact, award a technical.

If I was going to run to be commissioner, my platform is eliminating the clear flops. (Subtle flops would still happen, but you have to live with that)

I’d say that’s mostly because Harden is one of the greatest playoff chokers of all time. That fact is the Lakers’ best chance in this series.

That's not the point, at all.

If Giannis goes to Golden State or the Knicks or any other large market team, he's going to sign massive endorsement deals that wouldn't otherwise be available if he stays in a small market like Milwaukee.

Being from around KC I'm always going to root for the small market teams to keep their home grown stars for stars to not form super teams via FA.

Also LBJ was doing ok in Cleveland which is about half the size of Milwaukee. Favre and Rodgers also found their way on TV in spite of being from the cheese state.

It boils down to what his priorities are.

Unless you're his agent or financial advisor, I don't see why you would really give a shit about whether Giannis makes 30 million in endorsements instead of 50 million. As a fan of the league, I want to see a competitive league with a lot of parity among all teams big and small. Not just a bunch of farm teams for the Lakers, Knicks, Celtics, and Warriors.

As a fan of the league, I want to see a competitive league with a lot of parity among all teams big and small. Not just a bunch of farm teams for the Lakers, Knicks, Celtics, and Warriors.

I'm all for athletes, regardless of their city or team, to earn as much money as possible because their careers can come to an end in a flash.

And the Knicks haven't been relevant nearly 25 years, so if you want a competitive league, then New York would be an ideal destination for him.

Nobody goes to the Knicks lol.

Well I guess it is time for the Knicks to be competitive again lol.

Boston looks ROUGH.

Love this Toronto team and, of course, nick nurse.

They were a twat hair away from being down 3-0, and now the series is tied and look in control of the series. Crazy.

KC_Connection 09-05-2020 07:20 PM

The Raptors completely outplayed them that game. Wouldn't have even been as close as it was without Boston getting more calls from the refs. Now it gets really interesting in a Bo3 series.

I doubt that.

Then apparently you haven't spent a lot of time watching LeBron play this sport. He's a basketball genius.

Yep. Harden = CHOKE
One day that may not be the case. He just has to come through one time and it could open the floodgates. It might as well happen against this weak Lakers team.

KC_Connection 09-05-2020 07:24 PM

Rumors in the bubble have been that Miami and Toronto are the frontrunners right now for Giannis (if and when he does go). He's not going to Dolan and his joke Knicks.

Buehler445 09-05-2020 07:28 PM

How the hell can Paul George be that good and perform that horribly?

DaneMcCloud 09-05-2020 08:59 PM

This is some bad basketball tonight

Pitt Gorilla 09-05-2020 09:35 PM

Defense has been incredible.

Sassy Squatch 09-06-2020 07:32 AM

Rough weekend for the top stars. Both LeBron and Kawhi get 0 points in the 4th quarter of winnable games, and Giannis seems to have one foot out the door of Milwaukee. If he doesn't play tonight it's clear why.

I'd be shocked if he didn't play.

Hopefully complete the sweep today.

Ankle finally gave out after carrying his worthless teammates.

:cuss:Lot's of fake fans in the stands today and none of them are wearing masks!!:banghead:

Pulling for the Bucks now, I want as much hoops as possible for this last week before football is back.

Plus the Bucks "others" may step up their game with Giannis out. It will be interesting to see if he comes back if they win this one.

Did he aggravate it on a play or something? Was watching Djokovic get defaulted from the US Open.
