I also have a big onion boner. Onion and garlic in everything!

i have to have onions on my sandwiches - the only exception (i guess) is when I get that custom bagel w/ cheese and a steak patty and a tomato slice for breakfast, at Steak & Shake - I'm not quite ready for an onion that early. But otherwise - bring those shits on!

Interesting. I freaking LOVE chili, and kind of attribute it to never having it growing up (mom hated it and wouldn't even have it in the house till I was 16ish).

Fire Me Boy! 09-23-2017 01:17 PM

I like cooked onion just fine, but it has to have the crunch taken out of it. The flavor of cooked onion is fine, but I find the raw texture repulsive.

I'm like this with Bell Peppers - especially Red - not sure why - maybe the skin?

Simply Red 09-23-2017 01:19 PM

again - I like onion either destroyed (cooked) or raw. Haha

Agreed. Cooked, diced onion is the shit

Simply Red 09-23-2017 02:32 PM

Okay - this is odd but my mother made some Runzas w/o knowing of our discussions - she'd indicated she was making them, this morning - and I was all like WWWWWWWWWHHAAAAAT????

Anyhow - Onions, Cabbage and a little cheese sauteed inside homemade bread - she'd never made them before - actually a little creepy.

They popped w/ a side of jalapenis mustard for dipping.

Sonic Extreme Tots sorry called them the wrong name.

I have a Sonic close to my house. It's the most disappointing Sonic I've ever been too. On a consistent basis. I love Sonic. Staple of my childhood, food is up my alley, commercials are fantastic, etc...but this particular one is just trash on almost every level.

They don't **** up the drinks, so that's nice, but anything else you get from there is almost guaranteed to be a complete dumpster fire.

I'm near the worst Sonic ever. I stopped going there after a half dozen visits yielded not one where they got everything right.

One time I ordered two corn dogs. When they repeat the order to you right after, they asked if I wanted cheese on that burger.

On my last visit there, they screwed up my single drink order five times. Swear to god, not kidding. It was a Rt. 44 diet cherry limeade. They screwed up the size, the drink, the cherry, the diet... every conceivable thing they could have screwed up, they did at least once.

LMAO

Cheese the corn dog up bud, love to see you try!

Yeah, that's the sort of shit I'm dealing with at this one. Total incompetence and inability to make anything fresh/correctly. The drink thing is just ridiculous though. You really shouldn't be able to **** up a drink.

I've lived by this one for about 2 years now, been through there 8 times or so I'd guess and have been pissed about something nearly every time. I'm done. It's not like their menu is super cheap either. If you're getting food for two you can plan on spending $20.

Can't justify that. When Sonic is done correctly, it's my favorite fast food place all around.

Lolwut? I like In-N-Out. I can never eat there because the drive thru line is so long and there's never a place to park anywhere nearby, but I remember their burgers as being pretty tasty and fresh. The few times I have managed to get a meal from an In-N-Out I was very pleased. Their fries suck though unless you put something on them. I get them 'animal style' and they're fine that way.

Best fries ever were McDonald's old fries. The ones w/all the bad oil.

If we're talking potatoes in general Jack In The Box has an item based on their hash brown patty. It's Jack In The Box so items have to have these stupid stoner names but they are pretty good. Still it feels goofy to order a Chick-N-Tater Munchie Meal and a Wakey Bakey Hash when you want to get bloated on shitfood.

I use onion and garlic so often that I can't fathom a different answer. I wish I was able to cook any sort of Asian food on a consistent enough basis where I could give that pairing it's fair shake. I don't, so I have to go onion/garlic all day.

Maybe it's franchise wide. I live in North KC, and the one I go to is off 9 Highway. It's terrible. The other one I have close is off North Oak and 72nd I believe, but I rarely go there.

side note: it's so weird hearing people say highway after the number versus the 'highway' part first - Missouri vs Georgia - it DID once sound normal, then again so did 'Pop' for 'soda'

Well yeah - as I'd indicated somewhere else talking to FMB! - the cooks have a lot to do w/ the quality under the heat-lamps.

I didn't even think about that until you mentioned it. It has always been highway first up here. Although I do notice that down in Sac some people refer to a freeway as 'the' and a highway as just the number. Like you might hear someone say take the 80 over to the 5 unless you want to go North on 99. Weird.

You can make a home replica of potato oles by frying up some ore ida potato rounds and hitting them with lawrys seasoning salt while they're hot.

As for the OP's question, I really like Slim Chicken's fries. For pure potato goodness I'd go with Culver's. So many other places cover up the potato flavor with excessive seasoning.
