Haven't finished the season yet, was reading cautiously trying to make sure I didn't get spoiled on anything.
The parts I found humorous about the portrayal of the Ozarks is the geographics of it all. Acting like driving to St. Joe from there is like a quick drive, and even more laughable was the afternoon drive to Kentucky. |

I finished this last week and forgot to post my thoughts on it.
Definitely one of Netflix's best original shows. I had some issues with Marty's brother in law taking up so much screen time (and some stupid choices he made thru out ) but no biggie, he gave a good performance imo. Laura Linney should win a shit ton of awards for her performance. She was superb in Season 3. Really no major complaints for me. Bring on season 4! |

Oh snap. Episode 10
That still frame at the end... |
Yeah. Like all the rest of the seasons it was really well done. The writers deserve a ton of credit for weaving in all the innocuous stuff that ends up being pivotal. Like the drone.
I’ll spoiler the rest just in case.

Ozarks to St Joe is the new Dragonstone to Hardhome in an hour or so.

Heh, REO Speedwagon!
Of course! |
I’ve thought about visiting the Ozarks in the summer before. Fishing and boating and looks like a fun time.
This show portrays the characters of the area probably a little too well......maybe it’s not a good idea. |

So Wyatt never nailed Charlotte, but he nails the old lady? Give me a break.....
That was disgusting... |

So why didn’t Marty just accept the pregnant FBI ladies deal?
Other than , it would have been the end of the show. |

Great show. Writing is still top notch to me. At first I was a little skeptical about Ben but he turned out to be a great actor and worth it.
Maybe it's different nowadays but I use to drive from South KC to the Lake in about 2 hours all the time back in the day. Can't say about Kentucky tho that seems more like a 5 or 6 hour thing. |

In some ways I like 3 better than 1. The holes in the plot are big enough for the moon to orbit through. Definitely better than season 2. |

I thought the brother in law was amazing. I mean, I looked over at my wife and said "This guy is blowing me away". That shit was heart wrenching.

And that may be true but the dudes acting was fantastic. As he spiraled down, you felt this is how someone would spiral out of control. He was so good with the subtle changes and mood swings, he should get a Emmy consideration.

Yeah, the seasons start a little slow but really picks up. Wendy’s brother did some straight phenomenal acting. Like he was relatable but at the same time just a notch too weird

Netflix announces Ozark to end with two-part final season
Netflix announced Tuesday that the hit series... has been renewed for a fourth and final season. But the Byrde family will hang around a little longer than usual, considering the concluding run will be expanded to 14 episodes (as opposed to the usual 10) and be split in two parts (seven and seven). https://ew.com/tv/ozark-renewed-fina...Ggp2H54wQpv4cA |
Kinda felt like they could get 20 more out of it without running out of gas but oh well - 14 is better than 10.

Had he taken it, they'd have lost their casino license and Navarro would've had little reason to keep any of them around at that point. The Agent painted a nice little picture about how he'll be 'free' of everything, but c'mon - you can't just unplug a cartel. Arrest Navarro and someone else takes over his operations. In either event, Marty had maybe 24 months to live had he taken that deal and I suspect they'd have killed his family in front of him first. |

I hope they do the Breaking Bad thing where Marty dies and his family gets away clean. Something like that. |

the wife reminds me of Katy Segal's character in Sons of Anarchy. I loved the character at the beginning, but grew to hate her because she was always stirring up everything lo.
I'm down for the wife to get wiped out. |

And we as the audience can see that she has clearly screwed up biggly a couple of times now. And that despite this fact, she continues to operate as though she's infallible. Marty is almost certainly more intelligent than she is. Now she's a more creative and dynamic operative than he is, but that makes her more of an idea person than the decisionmaker. She is undeniably critical. As noted - Marty needs her ability to navigate these waters. But she's not a CEO - she's a Department head. Her best role is chief lieutenant and she's unwilling to accept that fact. |

I thought the brother was well played. Went from somewhat normal aside from the freak out as a substitute teacher, to gradually getting , more crazy as he was off his meds etc. was very well done, I was so sick of Cade. LMAO. Like an evil Slingblade. |

I thought the ending of the brother could have been done better, it wasn’t done bad. I was just thinking he is going to find himself in a ****ed situation with Rose and his sister. Then the cartel would wipe him out simply due to the fact that the cartel didn’t need him and would prove a point to everyone. I did like the evolving character he played though. That was cool. |

I’d bet most takes on the guys performance is similar to this boards opinion. Bet he’s getting some top role offers these days. |
I finally started binging Ozark last night and got through about 2 and half episodes before going to bed.
What I saw was absolutely outstanding, from the cast, to direction to story to score to overall production quality. I'm going to avoid this thread until I've caught up but I am stoked to see the next 27.5 episodes. Jason Bateman is just so good. |
