Mahomes gets the day off. Standard procedure for starter to get this day off. Other 3 QB's practice as usual.

Morse, Ford, DAT, and Ware too.

pugsnotdrugs19 07-25-2018 07:45 AM

He’s gonna throw picks every now and then. If you don’t expect it, you’re a ****ing moron.

Even Alex threw a decent chunk of INTs in camp.

He’ll throw more bc he’s going to take more chances.

Mahomes has a Marcus Peters esque mindset. He’s gonna go for it a lot to make a play good or bad.

I'm going to say a deal is being worked out, there is no way you bring a FA to watch practice if he isn't a lock. In my mind at least

The quarterback throws the ball and the defender catches the ball. That's how you throw an INT in 7 on 7s.

And the defender was an OLB dropping into coverage.

LMAO JFC are we going to have morons getting all worried and upset after every single Mahomes INT in ****ing practice nonetheless this year??

Thats not how the process of developing a young QB is supposed to go. I know Chiefs fans have no idea what developing a QB is like but damn.

Also, quarterbacks throw interceptions. I know you're used to Alex checking it down, throwing it away, tucking and running or taking a sack and keeping his INTs down because of that, but that's why his ass is gone.

Quarterbacks throw INTs. Mahomes will throw INTs. And he'll throw a few more his first few years in the league just like every QB to ever play the game has.

Any chance he ends up being a Suggs type player? Cause that would be nice.

I can't remember the last time we were so excited for such an average player.

It's a reflection of how little faith we have in our corners.

I think it’s because it’s the most exciting upcoming season in many, many years. Anything that helps, including upgrading our biggest weakness, is going to be overblown a little.

I hope so but I'm not counting on it. He gets his shit pushed in even on the rare occasions when he is healthy. It hurts that the Chiefs don't have a good LG to help him. Fulton was a better Center last season. Probably because he could play in a phone booth much better than Morse.

Yep, he's a JAG. He'd be fine with dominant guard play, but on his own he's soft. I wouldn't break the bank to keep him.

I just think the exact opposite of that. Fulton wasn't good at center. Morse, when healthy, is good.

That's the thing, we don't have Fulton, we have Erving, who sounded like a disaster during the OTA's.

We had a nice running game the first 5 games of last year. After Morse was hurt it dropped off dramatically.

From Keysor's article in The Athletic:

"The narrative around Morse has shifted a great deal over the last year. He’s gone from a player most fans view as a very good one to a player many fans view as replaceable. It’s interesting how quickly those things can turn based on stuff a player can’t control, like an injury. I often have people asking me if the Chiefs would have been better off retaining Zach Fulton to play center over Morse.
The answer: No. No, they would not."

I'm expecting the Oline to be average, which should be plenty good enough.

But when you think of it, it is pretty much the same line that allowed Smith to have a career year and Hunt to be the leading rusher so I am not concerned.

RealSNR 07-25-2018 02:05 PM

I'm certainly no expert, but I had a less than stellar opinion on Morse even before the injury. We've always been extremely soft and less than ideal I'm short yardage or goalline situations. Morse has always been steady in pass protection but gets blown off the ball more often than not in running situations.

Dude was 7 of 12 with like 2 picks in mini camps during 7 on 7 drills.. dude was complete ass... and he picked up right where he left off... It's almost impossible for a NFL QB to throw a int on 7 on 7 drills.. and even more worse to go 7 of 12 .. This should concern everybody here-

So why does the Twitter feed in the OP, entitled "Chiefs", just have a a bunch of Royals pictures?

Having all the depressing Royals tweets in the Chiefs Training Camp thread is killing my buzz.

I had NFLN on for 10 minutes today. Heard of a few holdouts around the league.

Are there any Chiefs holdouts? Did not hear of any yet.

TrebMaxx 07-25-2018 03:39 PM

I'm thinking that I heard the Chiefs looked to be holdout free this season.

I am guessing you just coined this yourself. Very creative. :shake:

You only have one thing right when comparing the two - we will have the number 1 Offense again very soon. Mahomes will pass Trent's career numbers in 4 years or less.

Phobia coined "TrINT" originally and Whitlock stole it

Probably some mult from Claynus or someone similar just to add a spark. It's of course going to work. CP loves the rage wars!
