The next step down would be Pasteurized process cheese, followed by Pasteurized process cheese food, then Pasteurized process cheese spread. Non of the Pasteurized products are considered cheese. Provel is real cheese and not a Pasteurized product like Velveeta which is really not cheese at all and is labeled as a "Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product". Products with this label may contain MPC's (milk protein concentrate, a highly processed concentrated milk protein) It can be made from a single cheese (solid, or powdered), or a blend of several cheeses. Cream, milk fat, water, salt, artificial color, oils (for consistency and texture), and spices may also be added. Learn about IMO's and Provel cheese here: http://www.stltoday.com/lifestyles/f...6592db4f0.html |

I think if you tried it in soups or mac and cheese you would like it. Make your own to know it's good quality with 1 cup white cheddar, 1/2 cup swiss, and 1/2 provolone. I guess you don't like any of those? |

I’d agree with you, but then we’d both be wrong. |
I don't love basil - I can eat it atop a pie - just have other preferences.

Also it's funny to see that you've been to Thayer, Mo FMB! I thought I was the only one who'd passed through there.

Not my first rodeo. This works. You drain the tomatoes, so that helps with the wateriness. And the high heat from the Kettle Pizza will reduce and thicken the sauce. It’s a method I learned about from ATK and it works. |
Before.

Used semolina, which most agree is better since it doesn’t burn the way cornmeal does. Either didn’t use enough or let it sit too long.

I agree Pizza Queen, especially when Chuck ran it, was the best in KC. Best kept secret in KC was their Queens NY pizza by a guy from Queens. SR can shove his chain pizza down the toilet compared to PQ!!! |
They opened a Marcos in overland Park but I never got to try it. It lasted about as long as a pop up store. That thin crust pizza does look nice

I will agree with you on Sutera's we used to eat there and order the pizza when we went to events at Kemper mainly Blades games. They didnt have a bad plate of spaghetti and meatballs either. |
Probably going to grab some fun house for the game tomorrow. 30 case of beer on standby to get through the Alex Smith misery.

Leo's Pizza has gone downhill but the did every since they moved across to the North side of Englewood Rd. I dont think they took their pizza oven with them.

I haven't lived north since the 80's and friends up north always got name brand stuff when ordered for delivery but I will say Pizza shop up there is dammed good. Most of the time I just ate what was given to me. Even PaPa's is edible with a big ass Crown and coke... I'd try Northern Lights again given the opportunity, Leo's? not so much. |

Kelso's I know Northlanders have had It was good at Metro North and not as good in NKC. Wild Bill Kelso started it way back when at SE Quad vivion and Choutau. It was a hangout when we were kids on a Friday night.

OK, I despise California for 100's of reasons and I plan on retiring in Montana or Idaho but...........I know for a fact I will miss the pizza, mexican food, chinese food, vietnamese food. Our local franchise pizza "Round Table and Mountain Mikes" would be considered authentic NY pizza by most "inbetween states" lol. Im not more than a few miles from Bezerkely but that damn place has some of the best pizza and hotdogs in the world....Flame away lol

Northern Lights was OK, decent Midwest style pizza. One of the worst pizzas I've had in KC was from Judge's north of the river. Just a basic, flavorless pizza. U-Gene's in Riverside and by the airport on the other hand, was my 2nd favorite pizza in KC. They had a Friday special of a large cheese pizza for $9.99 and it was NY style foldover greatness. |

This U-Genes has my interest as I thought I new most the pizza joints in my neck of the woods. |

There was a Smaks in that location and Earl May lawn and Garden dont remember a auto center.
|
Diamond Joes Gentleman's club wanted to relocate to the Earl May and now pawnshop location. I think the neighborhood squashed it.

There was a blog about Pizza Queen a few years back and the granddaughter posted. Maybe it was a niece, doesn't really matter. For some reason the place went down in flames. It wasn't because of the pizza. |
