We can likely get Jason Bean as an undrafted free agent as a developmental wide receiver.

I saw that he had one of the fastest runs last year and it intrigued me.

If Bean wants to play pro ball, he better learn to catch the ball well and run routes.

Yes, He can fly down the field.

That’s the reason Andy kept drafting QB’s in Philly.

What?

Like, when has he not sucked ?

College, but he probably had the best TE tandem in CFB history(Coffman and Rucker)

It is literally the only position you can bank that won’t be drafted until rounds 6-7 if at all anytime soon. They will resign Gabbert or another veteran at a similar price point. Take your pick:

Someone would have to fall further than is reasonably foreseeable for it to go any other way.

BossChief 01-26-2024 10:47 AM

I’m surprised some of you would be so mad at spending a 4th or 5th on a QB.

SurroundedByMorons 01-26-2024 10:48 AM

To make this insane logic leap, you have to place McNabb in the same tier as Mahomes. And that, my friend, is something special to even consider.

Pasta Little Brioni 01-26-2024 10:48 AM

The ****? Just a LITTLE bit of difference between Mahomes and ****ing McNabb ROFL

For what purpose… to sit out as a third string/practice squad QB?

The Chiefs have too many needs to waste a draft pick.

RunKC 01-26-2024 11:04 AM

Jets will end up cutting Zach Wilson after they get no trade offers. That's who they should bring in on the cheap.

What would be the upside to this move?

BossChief 01-26-2024 01:08 PM

It’s not about the difference between Mahomes and McNabb. It’s about having a cost controlled and talented backup for 3 years that we can trade for a profit afterwards.

When your front office can find gems like Sneed in the 4th or Pacheco in the 7th you don' need to be drafting QBs "just cuz."

He would be a great back up QB, but our version of cheap and his version is waaaay different.

What needs do we have outside of WR and Offensive Tackle?

I wonder if Veach and Andy will use a mid rounder on a QB in the next couple drafts.

I wouldn’t hate it at a max of a 4th round investment if the right guy falls, but I sure would be pissed if we used a 2 or 3 on one.

again, the NFL landscape is so different than it was back them.

Just plug in actual player names and see how you feel about this...

2nd Round. Can you see Veach and Reid saying I'd rather have a back up QB than Rashee Rice? I'd rather have a backup QB than Leo Chenal in the 3rd. I'd rather have a backup QB than Joshua Williams in the 4th, or I'd rather have a backup QB than Noah Gray in the 5th.

Sure, you can go high light the guys that have yet to develop and make the case, but look at our roster and realize the reason this team is so damn good and consistent, is that we add talent and depth to the roster through the draft every year.

The guy you want to draft hopefully never sees the field. And frankly if he does, I want him to suck because I'd rather inject high draft picks after an injury season than have the ability to shop a backup QB around for what essentially would be a comp pick.
