No clue. They also had to awkwardly call Cousins and apparently that went as awful as expected.

Isn’t the whole point in signing Cousins at that price to win now?

You have a big time receiver sitting right there. You have some decent OL prospects. You have your pick of any defensive player in the draft.

You take Penix. Unbelievable.

He'll be 26 or 27 by the time he starts unless Kirk gets hurt, so it doesn't make any sense...and if Kirk gets hurt they wasted a ton of cap room.

If they knew all along that he’d be the pick, then signing Cousins is dumb. Especially if you knew that and didn’t tell him when he signed.

I think they said on McAfee that the Falcons can exit the contract after 2 years. Plus, he is still rehabbing his Achilles, so maybe he never plays again.

All the justifications for drafting Penix really just mean they shouldn’t have signed Cousins.

The two moves separately aren’t that bad. It’s when you make both of those moves that it gets really dumb.

Lot of Johnny Newton fans here. This explains why he fell out of the 1st rd and why Atlanta passed on him.
