My expectations might be lowered from seasons 7-8, but I thought the S9 premiere was pretty good. Once there is relative peace, it's natural that the conflict would be more internal than external (for now). And some people may have forgotten, but even the peak of TWD wasn't nonstop action, the search for Sophie was a lot of people arguing about how to act in this new society. It just got tired and slow by the time Negan got involved.

I was pretty shocked they went through with the Gregory thing at the end.

I finally got to watch it today. On first watch. Hated it. What they finally did to Gregory was finally. The highlight if the episode.

So they had to go to a museum (with a glass floor over a pit of zombies no less) to get a ****ing plow and a wagon from the 1800's? Oh, let's not forget the ANCIENT Indian dugout canoe.

That whole glass breaking scene was bad. It's obviously made to withstand the museum traffic.

Yeah, you'd think there'd be an overabundance of modern kayaks, canoes, and boats (especially being in the south).

I could believe the wagon if they had to rely solely on horses due to gasoline going bad and no more cars. But this universe hasn't done well to make that an issue.

I've always wondered why nobody is hoarding gas and oil.

Pretty encouraging so far. I thought last nights episode was one of the better ones in awhile. Liking what they’ve done with Daryl especially.

It looks to me like they might bring in The Whisperers and The Commonwealth at the same time.

I read an article today that blasted AMC and their marketing department for actively advertising the fact that these are the last episodes for Rick Grimes.

The writer was absolutely correct. It's a slow-drip towards the inevitable this season. And while it has been better than the past 2 seasons (so far), everyone knows the end is near.

In my humble opinion, they really needed to introduce a brand new conflict 2-3 seasons ago to maintain momentum (instead of the continuous "who's the next group of bland people we have to go to war against?).

I'm not sure what that clever conflict would be, but something fresh was needed.

2nd episode still crap. Lowest rating every. Fell asleep twice on 2 different days, trying to watch the full episode.
